Hey!
So now we're a few chapters into Local, I thought I'd do a little discussion blog.
This is entitled end of 'part one' as I kind of see the story divided into three parts. A first one, second one and an epilogue. The newest chapter 'Pain', represents the ending of that first part. This is a woolly, personal idea and doesn't represent hard divided parts with wildly different themes.
So, what have we had and what can we expect moving forward? Living in a smallish town myself at the moment, it's very easy to feel like nothing changes. A massive part of the story is conveying this futility of wanting things to change in a place where they so infrequently do. So Twilight keeps ending up in the same scenarios, eating with Rarity, having the villagers stare at her. And regardless of how she tries to change this it keeps spiralling out of her control.
Moving forward, expect that change to start coming more and more. More horror, higher stakes, more Twilight seeming to steady lose her grip on what is really real.
