    River City Equestria Girls?

Seriously, that's Pinkie Pie on the left, and Rainbow Dash on the right. Tell me I'm wrong.

I will not write a fanfic about the two of them getting into all the fights.

    Probably.

An "I don't have livejournal anymore" sort of update.

    It snowed yesterday.

Which just reminded me how much I don't like winter. It wasn't even a bad snow, just enough of a dusting to linger for a little bit. First one of the season. And I even had the day off from work, due to my schedule, so it's not like I had to do anything ...

    So I didn't.

    Happy Halloween!

So yeah. Despite various distractions (Steam had Darkest Dungeon for UNDER FOUR BUCKS), I've managed to hammer out a ridiculously shippy conclusion to the self indulgent Rarijack story I started.

So that's fun? I gave myself a deadline to finish things on Oct 31, so that's what I did, dangit. Hopefully you guys will enjoy.

Recommend me some fanfic! · 4:34pm Sep 11th, 2019

As while I WRITE a lot of pony, I don’t tend to READ a lot of pony. And it’s a slow day at work and my phone’s ebook app is being a butt.

Thus, fanfic. Preferably something light and comic and not a bajillionty words long. So, FO:E is out, as is The Enchanted Library (the latter of which I miiiight get around to reading even if it’s an AU that’s not Rarijack. Ehem).

So yeah, post what you got so I can judge you by your bookshelf and I’ll check it out! Maybe even do a review blog of it? I dunno. Time will tell.

How short do you want? Are we talking <3000 or <30,000? Cause that will wildly change my suggestions.

Honestly? Not to toot my own horn but I'm actually pretty proud of this little short story I did a few years back and as a bonus it's even RariJack-y 8D https://www.fimfiction.net/group/1561/thirty-minute-ponies/thread/141042/legacy-prompt-12-sick-day#comment/3858262

All short, sweet, and/or funny:

ETwilight Sparkle Gets A Free Salad
Twilight becomes an action hero to fight for free salads everywhere.
AestheticB · 9.1k words  ·  1,508  21 · 19k views
EHow to Remove a Unicorn Tooth
Three missing pieces, two loving alicorns, and a single stupid decision that will set young Princess Cadence on a fresh new course.
Skywriter · 11k words  ·  1,442  17 · 25k views
EPrincess Celestia Hates Tea
Seriously, a lot.
Skywriter · 8.5k words  ·  4,741  71 · 64k views
EA Hell of a Time
The princesses gave their magic to Twilight to prevent Tirek from stealing it. As a result, they end up stuck in Tartarus. The fact that things manage to go downhill here says a lot about the wonders of family.
Aragon · 4.6k words  ·  3,990  57 · 46k views
EA Canterlot Carol
Dotted Line discovers the true meaning of Hearthwarming, mostly by accident.
GhostOfHeraclitus · 6.5k words  ·  994  12 · 12k views

Might as well include one of my own:

EOne Heck of a Case
Twilight settles an unusual court case.
iisaw · 2.4k words  ·  1,185  22 · 11k views

Go see Estee library. Lots of fun one-shots that are independent of her main story line. Hours of reading right there.

I think "Light and comic" applies to about 90% of what I write, BUT I keep seeing your comments on my stuff so you've probably read most of it. One that I'd plug if you haven't read it is Drifting Down the Lazy River

EDrifting Down the Lazy River
A frustrated young orphan with a talent for painting attempts to run away from his rural village and escape to Baltimare on a raft, only to find out that the river Fen holds an unexpected answer to his problem: Seaponies
Georg · 99k words  ·  1,020  12 · 8.5k views

It's not something that you have to push to get through, and fits well with lazy summer days and shade, with memories of our youth and the importance of looking around while you drift through life.

I suppose Harry Potter and the Little Pony Problem counts that way too. Short and sweet.

EHarry Potter and the Little Pony Problem
Harry Potter never wanted a pony, let alone dozens of them. Sometimes, life gives us what we need instead of what we want.
Georg · 26k words  ·  467  14 · 6k views

Pretty much anything by Georg or Admiral Biscuit or Cold in Gardez will fit the bill

Also GhostOfHeraclitus:

TWhom the Princesses Would Destroy...
Behind the scenes of a perfectly normal visit to Canterlot lies chaos. Also, custard.
GhostOfHeraclitus · 20k words  ·  2,947  44 · 49k views

I expect our definitions of "not long" vary greatly, because I think something like https://www.fimfiction.net/story/327551/changeling-space-program The CSP is short, at a mere quarter million words.

Bookmarking for future perusing!

I will add https://www.fimfiction.net/story/25125/the-keepers-of-discord it's 11k words.

Edit: just about everything out of my "read it more then twice" library. Means I have read it a minimum of 3 times.

I know you have enough recommendations to last awhile, but I second the recommendation of Moonlight Palaver, or almost anything by Carabas, really. This author writes a good Rarity, too, although she's not in Moonlight Palaver.
