Not back to KSP yet, but I did do some space stuff.

I haven't touched KSP since my early experience with KSP2 was a combination of glitchy game and impossible-to-read UI. I've been thinking about it here and there, but I've had other things to do.

But that doesn't mean I'm not doing space stuff, and yesterday I finally edited and posted a video of such.

    My muse is nagging me.

I've done very little writing the past five months, partly due to being busy, but mostly due to recurring headaches when it's writing time.

I have a couple weeks off, and I'm going to try to make time to get back on my projects (the Octavia story and novelizing Peter is the Wolf). But my mind... well... it's trying to jump ahead, or possibly back.

    Life imitates art...

So, a privately built and operated space probe became the first US lander to soft-land on the Moon last week- Odysseus.

    Extreme Nitpicky Trivia Help Wanted

I've finally begun work on that story I promised.

I need a bit of info for a minor touch, though:

Does anybody know if, through the entirety of MLP:FiM, any month in the Julian/Gregorian calendar has been named by any character in any episode whatever?

I'm prepared to make up month names, but if they use the same ones we do I won't bother.

Thinking about more game streaming. · 4:35am Sep 9th, 2019

Specifically, tomorrow evening (Monday 9-9), beginning 7 PM, at which point I believe I will fly a CSP mission which will get at most a paragraph in the next chapter, just to finish the temperature scans that didn't happen in Mission 22. That will run from building a rocket from scratch to as many "simulated" launches as necessary (read: revert to VAB if the design proves bad) to landing a rocket-rover on Minmus.

RedneckGaijin on Twitch.tv, if you're interested.

But I'm also thinking of making it a weekly thing, and a non-CSP thing. KSP streaming is sort of old-school, of course, but I'm thinking of adding a handicap. I call it the Rule of 7.

Here's the deal. In KSP Career Mode, you start out with a Mission Control that can have up to two mission contracts at one time. The first upgrade lets you have up to seven contracts at a time, and the second upgrade lets you have unlimited contracts.

So I propose: at every launch, I must have as close to 7 contracts active as possible. And each launch vehicle must be equipped, in theory, to fulfill all of them on a single launch. If I miss a contract, it stays on for the next launch until I clear it.

Because I enjoy building and flying ridiculous contraptions of rockets and challenging myself for multiple missions, no matter how abominable the designs.

Your reactions?

7pm at what time zone? so i can play and see more then the last round of a different game

First off, I think you mean 9-9, and 9-8 is Sunday.

And that does sound like fun, crazy mission can be a great trip in KSP. You're running in an older version if I remember right, so no delta-v calculations in the VAB.

I'll be at work, sadly. But i'll probably watch the replay later! I would love a weekly stream as well!

First Awesome name!

Second, For Kris it would be 7pm CST, For those on the Pacific Coasts (PST) it would be 5pm, for those on he East Coast (EST) it would be 8pm.

I'll probably be around from time to time. Nice streamming last time with the weird rover, now I have to design one or two myself.

5119072 If by "weird" you mean "catastrophically bad and only succeeded in its mission through overengineering, two quicksave resets, and a large slice of dumb luck," then yep, sure was weird all right.

And the extra boost, don't forget that... If "moar boost" doesn't work it's because you are not using "moar boost" enough. That thing had enough delta V to achieve many great things.
