"Small Hiatus" he said... · 8:30pm Sep 7th, 2019

"I'll get back to it eventually," he said.

Well, looks like I'm going to take back what I said. As of right now, I'm canceling the Protagonist. Why? Well, the reason I'm doing it NOW is because I've gotten stupid busy and I want the looming blade of the Protagonist off my plate. It's been sitting there for a while, glaring at me, sneering.

Now, to be fair, this isn't the only reason. If it was I'd just leave the Protagonist on hiatus, or put the LSB on hiatus, or something. The fact of the matter is that I'm not invested in the Protagonist. Every week I came back to write a chapter I had to refresh myself on everything that had happened and had to parse together several things that were put in the background. The writing quality wasn't the best and the lack of idea in where I was going made the writing suffer along with my enjoyment.

And now over this last week there hasn't been a single "Hey, I want to do the Protagonist!" Instead, it's always "I SHOULD do the Protagonist now..."

I guess the days of interactive speedy-update schedules are beyond me, or something. I need more meat to keep myself going, and the Protagonist hasn't been providing that.

All my other stuff will still update (though I am serious about being overworked, stuff will probably start coming out slower than usual), don't you worry. I'm not LEAVING, and Insipidious has some stories that are running as well. It's just, I'm axing this story that's become more of a burden than something entertaining.

EDIT: anyone who's really invested in the Protag can go ahead and write stuff for it if they want.

I can only hope that you can return to it in time.
