I fear what comes after death... I need certainties...
But would I be a good Messiah with my low self-esteem? If I don't believe in myself would that be blasphemy? - Bloodhound Gang; Hell Yeah
I fear what comes after death... I need certainties...
I'm counting on my children to cure old age and infirmity so I can live forever. If I die before they do, I won't be around to be disappointed.
The suicide hotline number is 1-800-273-8255. Apropos of nothing.
I would go with either reincarnation or oblivion. in the case of the former, a second chance would require memory. in the case of the latter... there are things worse than suffering, in my opinion

Everyone can die at any moment for any reason... some people's death just comes sooner...

Reincarnation is my main push for, in hopes of never really ending... all I need to do is just figure out how to remember past lives... if at all possible...

There is no cure for old age, unless if someone can find a way to keep our cells replicating forever... or at most, just a longer period of time, without the bad benefits of getting old, like bad joints and other stuff... like, make us stay 20 until we are 120, then continue aging...

Again, I don't fear death, I don't fear death now, nor will I, Death is inevitable, it is the tax for having lived, but either way, I don't plan on dying anytime soon...

I'd get behind this.

in all likelihood, the soul-or whatever-gets wiped between iterations. either that or the consciousness gets scrapped and replaced for the next round

No... there has to be a way to remember stuff from previous lifetimes... it can't be that everything is wiped... there must be a section of our brain that is locked off, not allowing us to remember past lives, but there may be a way to break that lock, and gain access to vast amounts of knowledge... image, we find the people who shared consciousness with the people that wrote the books that burnt down in the library of Alexandria, and we rewrite all of that lost information!

if it's locked off, there would have to be a reason. I've heard stories about people who supposedly remember past lives, but it seemed that any more than one and they tend to start losing it. the brain can only handle so much, after all

Then download it... hook yourself into your brain, download everything your brain contains, excluding your current life shit, and only select the shit you want to see...
5115862
...okay. that could work. we'd need some next-level tech to pull it off, and there's no guarantee that whoever views it will be your next iteration, but that's really the only issue I can spot there

Thats why it would be done at birth, take everything the newborn knows from past lives... or at least at 18
