Update on pony and spoilers. (Spoiler-free, obviously)

So, Niko fic is mostly done, I have a rough first draft that's got the stuff in it I wanted, all except the ending and epilogue. It ended up being a little bit too telly and drama-y than I'd have wanted, but hey. It's a fanfic of a Christmas-based franchise, I won't publish it until December at least, I have time to finish up.

Pony-wise, I still have the outlines on my Bastion stories, I can get started on them and probably will soon, but they'll be slow initially. The first one, especially, deals with some heavy emotional issues and if the Niko thing has reminded me of anything, it's that I can't do emotional stuff without getting emotional myself, and that's just plain exhausting.

I still have not watched any pony episodes since last time, with one exception: an early release from one of those Dutch leaks. And hey, seeing as I speak Dutch (barely), I understood the whole thing. I didn't watch the whole episode, though: I skipped ahead to the part I wanted/needed to see. It's weird, my blood pressure went through the roof as I kept searching, now it's... I'm shaky, but nothing major. Gonna have to watch out for that, that sounds like a budding health problem. It wasn't the finale, incidentally. If you've been following me for a while, you'll know which episode it is and why it mattered more than previous ones. Honestly, I don't know what to think of it overall. Shan't spoil it for you. Finale's spoiled for me, though, it won't have any surprises and I'm okay with that. My place in the fandom and my take on the show has always been a little off anyway.

Anyway, Changeling Blood sequels will be in progress the coming months, I'll probably only publish those after the series ends, because I highly doubt I'll even get part one done before that. I'm not expecting them to be big hits, but what audience there is for it, I do aim to please. I may also do a friendshipping/romance story between Sunburst and Meadowbrook, based on a discussion in the forums a while back. That's about all the ideas I've got for oneshots at the moment. I'm running low on ideas, but that'll probably change with infusion of more episodes. Editing the Pharynx fic for EqD is also a project to continue now. Bottom line: I have stuff to do with or without the show. G5 is something I'll save for another blog, if anyone is curious to hear it.

Edit: there's also a story involving swans in bottles. And it seems surprisingly apt to write it now. So I may rush that out a bit before the finale hits.

There's some non-pony stuff I've been contemplating, including that original fiction I binned ages ago. To tell the whole truth, I never quite binned it, I've just gotten stuck and in the event that I did publish it, I didn't want it to be associated with this fandom. Or more accurately, the questionable stuff I've written in this fandom. I want a clean slate for that stuff, to soothe my paranoia/anxiety/whatever it's called. Not sure if or how I can get it, short of nuking things. We'll see what happens. Work out the problems with it before I worry about posting it anywhere.

Edit: seeing as it doesn't warrant a new blog post and it's likely what people will be looking for, I'll put it here. I'm gonna log off until some time after the finale airs. I want no part in any arguments or drama surrounding that one character I wrote so much about, but shall remain nameless, for one thing. It looks like I was proven wrong on the matter, and if the show has explicitly proven me wrong right at the finish line, there's no point in trying any further. There's certainly no point in trying to do so in the midst of mass emotional turmoil in the fandom. I feel a bit betrayed, I'll admit, or at least lied to. If I'd gotten this information sooner, I wouldn't have stuck to my guns as long as I did. Might not have even stuck in the fandom that long, but what's done is done. I also have no interest in hearing people's sob stories about the show ending or angry rants about Generation 5 or whatnot.
