That's it, I'm finished typing this "Alternate Universe" story arc, it's left unfinished. The ending of FIM has messed it up for me, so I'm just gonna explain it in its entirety. But going to split this into 5 blog posts to make it easier. And no spoiler tags cause trust me, you're going to find this premise terrible.
So, although this is in an alternate universe, it's in tune with the show, the 1st chapter taking place after season 2, and the other 9 taking place 10 years after season 9, but not after the final episode . That's the only spoiler tag I'm putting cause it's a season 9 spoiler. There's a few flashbacks on certain characters that take place before season 1.
The Second Ascender Invasion:
Chronologically, the 3rd chapter: "Malavolence", comes first in this story arc. Apparently the 2 princesses kept a secret from the Mane Six that took place before they were all born: Equestria wasn't the only land filled with ponies. Beyond that, before the 2017 Movie discovered other locations beyond Equestria, there was a planet called Symbroctio, filled with a unique kind of equestrian ponies: The Ascenders, a race of alien unicorns and Pegasi that are born with sentient blood that gives them special abilities that can range greatly. And combining that with the magic inside of their horns, makes them immortal. Their only weakness is to use the same alien powers against them. They also have a strict code of only bonding with their own kind, not with another pony from another land, like Equestria. One alien stallion changed all of that.
The king of the Ascenders, Malavolence found out that one of his dearest friends, Arbiter Shadow, had secretly fell in love with an Earth mare in Equestria named Sunny Sweetheart, and the relationship went on for longer than Malavolence expected. Sunny and Arbiter had 2 colts named Webber Shadow and Deathshadow Sweetheart. This angered him so bad to the point where he killed off Arbiter, and his wife somehow eavesdropped, and immediately sent her children back to Equestria, while getting killed afterwards. Webber and Deathshadow land back in Canterlot, and Princess Luna, after being reformed, comes for them. After the end of season 2 of FIM, the Ascenders finally come out of the shadows, and Webber in particular senses it. The Ascenders attack Equestria for the 2nd time, but leave fairly early, as Malavolence has other plans for Webber and his brother.
