Writing Woes

I've joined a couple of mlp writing discord groups, and they all sharing their intricate stories and OC's, with clever plots and deconstructing tropes and expectations and bla bla bla

And I'm here like

yeah I just want write shippy stuff with two characters that the fandom loves, hates, sexualized to alarmingly degrees or simple don't care about

in other words I stay quiet and wonder sometimes why I bother

Hey, no matter what you write or how clever people think it is/isn't, I'll probably give it a shot.

I think you write some good stuff! I'm a sucker for sappy or shipping stuff so I always read anything like that.

I guess I get frustrated with me writing sometimes and wrote this up in a moment of weakness. I feel much better now that I blew off some steam and slept on it. I'll keep writing shippy sappy things and worry about the plot later, the point is to have fun after all.

Have fun. You couldn't be more right. I learned that lesson a few weeks ago. It was pretty embarrassing but was just what I needed to have happen.

I wasn't keen on writing groups, but I do see the importance of them. I always think people are better than me at writing so I just do my own thing.
