    Revised Harmony Spirits

I wanted a full set of these with proper art, so with permissions from mauroz, here they are. A couple effects have been tweaked to be consistent with modern vernacular in the card game and for my own better understanding of card design and balancing, and I also added a new "Tier 1.5" form for Twilight so she can have her own Fusion outside the ace monster, and finally added Sunset as a

The Summer Sun Setback S9E17 Review · 3:58pm Aug 24th, 2019

MEANWHILE, AT THE LEGION OF DOOM...

So I like the premise right off the bat, Twilight managing the Summer Sun Celebration, which will be the last one since Celestia and Luna are retiring. The Legion of Doom can't figure out how to use Grogar's bell so they decide to break into the Canterlot Archives to research it, and sabotage the celebration as a distraction. Meanwhile Grogar sneaks off to look for something else since his bell isn't an option.

This was a really solid episode. I love Twilight's character development of getting a handle on her stress, even when things go out of control, and managing things well. I love the final "twist" with the Celebration, and all the villain stuff is great too. Overall just very entertaining plot and character stuff to set up the grand finale of the series more.

Yeah, that’s about right. It’s a pity it’s performing damage control regarding Twilight on mistakes that should never have been made and were made intentionally for this purpose, but it’s still a damn sight better then what’s been happening with her character lately.

In fact, this episode was the first since Frenemies, nine episodes ago, where I had no large reservations. It’s light on depth, being an incident-heavy episode, but it clicks through the events at a decent and exciting clip and doesn’t make any obvious mistakes. Mike Vogel did alright here, I reckon.

MEANWHILE, AT THE LEGION OF DOOM...

Darn it, now I need a new intro for my review blog...

In any case, yeah, this was some quality stuff. The transition of power takes a big step forward, Twilight shows how many such steps she's taken when not dealing with trivia contests, and the plot moves forward. What's not to like?

What character development? It all happened offscreen.

This was a okay episode.

It’s nice to see Twilight back to her season 5 self. Really enjoyed the episode, though some of the dialogue really felt straight out of a fixfic.

Yeah, it was all right. :)

Yeah, this was the sort of episode we needed after "A Trivial Pursuit". Though I feel like it was a little too easy for the Legion of Doom to thwart the security system, even though they weren't the focus.
