Does anyone remember a little story I once started a long time ago called Dust and Harmony?
It was a retelling of the Mare in the Moon mythos through the eyes of a worldy cowboy sheriff named Twilight, focusing on creative reinterpretations of characters and worldbuilding.
Well, I've honestly been hankering to get it started again. To that end, I've dusted off all my folders (no pun intended), and got back into contact with my original editor who is still alive and well.
This is just a little advanced notice to all those who read it all those years ago and are waiting for the finale. It'll finally come. I can't say when, as my new full time job is keeping me QUITE busy and I'm trying to get a bunch of other stuff started, but this is a priority to me and I'm already starting on it. And I also have a lot more to follow, if all goes well.
This is a good opportunity to reread it, I guess! And for anyone who doesn't know what this is, it is one of the works I've done that I'm most proud of. People definitely love it and I encourage you, my new readers and old, to check it out. Believe me. You won't regret it, unless you do in which case I never told you to read it, okay?
No but joking aside. I'm extremely proud of it and I really like it a lot and it would mean the world if you liked it too.

It wasn't on my radar initially, but the premise sounds interesting. Fantasy Western is an underused genre.

I shan't spoil in case you ever do decide to take a gander at it.
But I guarantee you at least one surprise every chapter or my name ain't Withersputs B Wagmyre.
But yeah, the tone of the story is heavily influenced by heavy western, but a bunch of steampunk thrown in for good measure (not a lot, though! Most of it is just to sort of... even the playing field, as it were). My goal was to create a very fair ground in that the stakes are actually real enough to be felt, so I had to make a few adjustments here and there and throw in a few twists on the side.
But man, if you do ever read it, I'd honestly love to hear your take. Your perspective is like someone slathering me with gold.

Thanks, guys! Trust me, I'm honestly buttfaced that it's taken this long for me to actually finish it. But I was in a real bad place a few years ago and I just didn't have the energy. But well, I've got it back. I've already written 5000 words for the final chapter, and I'm pushing forward.
But I hope you guys aren't silly enough to think that it's gonna be just a simple showdown, eh?

You're in for a treat. It's a completely unique take and yet it still works with the chars.
