Another year, more of the same...

It seems my various distractions lately have even prevented me from making my annual blog post on the day I had intended to. This past year, while I did successfully complete one more chapter on my main story (and even managed to do it before the year was halfway over as I had really hoped for), that was unfortunately all I was able to deliver to show my efforts. Kind of strange to look back and

Somehow, this became a lost year...

It has now been a full year since my last blog post, and how much progress did I make in my LEGO Equestria Girls series since then? Well, after finishing one of the side stories back in April, I have sadly made virtually no further progress at all. Why? To be honest, I'm struggling to figure that out, myself.

End of the year... and very little progress done...

Well, what can I say? My accomplishments this year have been nowhere even close to what I had promised. Had I been able to stick to my intended plan, I would've finished the tenth main story months ago, would've finished probably six or seven side stories, and would now be preparing to start the eleventh main story. But the sad reality of what I had actually managed to accomplish is not even

Halfway through the year, and my latest story is not even halfway done...

It is now the end of June, the halfway point of the year. Six months ago, I had promised that I would be able to maintain my self-imposed schedule of completing and posting a new chapter once every two weeks, despite delaying the start of the tenth main story a month later than I had originally intended. As I'm sure you all have noticed, that promise has since gone flying out the window, and I

    The tenth story has begun

I have now just published and submitted the start of my next story, LEGO Equestria Girls 10. Well, everyone, it's finally here. The very first LEGO Equestria Girls story not based on any official content, and therefore consists almost entirely of my own original ideas.

The seventh story has begun · 10:00pm Aug 5th, 2019

I have now just published and submitted the start of my next story, LEGO Equestria Girls 7. After how great the previous story turned out, even I have to admit that writing a Lego adaption of Rollercoaster of Friendship could prove more difficult, but I intend to make the most of what I have to work with. I will be adding in a few things that I think could make this story more interesting than the official version we all saw, so hopefully it all works out.

As usual, I'll be posting new chapters at a rate of once every two weeks, and this story will have few enough chapters that I'll easily be able to finish it before the end of the year. And as I'm sure you're expecting, yes, I intend to once again write two more main stories next year; the eighth story based on Spring Breakdown for the first half of next year, and the ninth story based on Sunset's Backstage Pass for the second half of next year. I'll definitely be looking forward to writing those two stories. Also, in light of certain new details brought up in the official series, I've decided that I'll also write a two-part short story near the end of this year, after finishing the one I'm now working on, to address that new information as well as follow up on other things.

I'm sure many of you may have heard by now the news that Sunset's Backstage Pass is the final Equestria Girls special, with the only future content left to go being an unspecified number of shorts. I acknowledge that it really is quite a shame that series will apparently not have a definitive finale like the pony series will be getting soon, but from my perspective of writing an alternate take on the entire Equestria Girls series, this could actually be a blessing in disguise. As I had mentioned in my previous blog post, I've had a few ideas for additional and totally original stories to add to the series, but decided to hold off on them while new official content was still coming out. But now that it's been all but confirmed that the series will be ending this year, I can now put a definitive number on those additional ideas in terms of how the rest of my series will play out.

Here's my complete plan: This year, after I'm finished with the seventh story, I'll also write a two-part short story that will follow up on some of the past villains and what's next for them. Next year, I'll write the eighth story (based on Spring Breakdown) in the first half, the ninth story (based on Sunset's Backstage Pass) in the second half, and finish off with a single short story that will integrate the events of the Lego Movie 2 into this series (as I did with the first movie since the very beginning). The year after that, I'll write the tenth story featuring the introduction of the Lego World's Changelings, the return of Starlight Glimmer, and the inclusion of various features I've always wanted to mention such as where all the Lego World's plastic comes from (and unlike recent stories, this one will be of a longer length like the first four stories were), and then I'll follow that by starting a series of side stories that will focus on various minor characters during the events of the main stories and will be continuously added to until the end of the series. The year after that, I'll write the eleventh story featuring the introduction of the Young Six from the pony world and the Lego World's version of Tempest Shadow and the Storm Forces (and again, it'll be a longer story that'll take up much of the year). And finally, the year after that, I'll write the twelfth and final story featuring many of the major licensed Lego themes (Star Wars, DC, Marvel, Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, and many more) being mashed together (like in Lego Dimensions), with a final ultimate villain so shocking, I think I'll keep it secret until the moment it's revealed to everyone involved. If you do the math, that means this series will be concluded for good by late 2023 or early 2024 (depending on how long the final story goes, as I'm still trying to figure out how the sequence of events will unfold).

As you can see, I've set myself with quite a lot of work ahead of me, but at least now I can finally say that there will be a definite end to this fanfiction series. I don't know what I'll do after that, but let's face it, that's five years down the road we're talking about, so I'll save that question for when I actually get close to finishing this series.

Oh, and the invitation I gave out in my previous blog post for other writers to make their own short stories based on the world of the LEGO Equestria Girls series still stands, if anyone is interested.

I think that covers everything of importance for now. I hope everyone will enjoy reading LEGO Equestria Girls 7.
