Equestria at War Update - The Way of Fire (2.2)

Hey there everybody! I've emerged from the darkness to help spread the news about another project that I'm working on. As I've mentioned in the past, in addition to being a fimfic author, I'm also a senior writer on the Hearts of Iron 4 mod, Equestria at War (discord link here), which is a fun (and sometimes very time consuming) volunteer project to dedicate

Equestria at War: Shores of Zebrica

Hey hey people, been a while hasn't it? Yeah, it's ya boy with another one of those "drop off the face of the earth and then post a blog post out of the blue" moments. At least they only last a couple of months (usually) right?

Horsecon 2019: The End of the Horse · 3:47am Aug 5th, 2019

Otherwise known as the horse's ass.

But yeah, Bronycon 2019 was a ton of fun and I'm glad I was able to go there and see all my friends one more time. I refuse to say "one last time" because I don't intend on never seeing these people again, but you never know. Such is life. At any rate, even if I didn't go to many panels and spent most of my time helping Ruirik out in his vendor booth, I feel like I ultimately met way more people this time around than I did before. In particular, I spent plenty of time around Captain Unstoppable, Aquaman, horizon, and Sorren, among many others. And of course, there's the usual crew of Ruirik, Skeeter, SolidFire, djthomp, and Web of Hope that I spent most of the con around. It was just a blast to be had all around, especially when us writerly types crashed horizon's place on Friday night and had a lit af party. Seriously, thanks again to horizon for working with me to get that organized and for offering your place to party. It was so much fun.

Somehow I managed to leave the vendor hall with more money than when I entered when you remove trivial things like food and hotel rent and parking. I only bought one $70 shadowbox because it had Somnambula and didn't buy anything else all four days, while right next door I sold 25 copies of my first ever story (now fully revised and updated to 2019 standards!) and made a good chunk of change from that. I only left the con with 2 copies of the book, and I'm giving those to family and a friend, respectively. If I had more, I'd see who wants them, but I don't. That doesn't mean it'll be impossible for you to get your hands on my book. Just be patient, and something might come your way.

But seriously, huge thanks to Aquaman for making this whole thing happen and proving to the rest of the fandom that fanfic writers aren't some second rate creators and we don't deserve to sell our art like artists and musicians. Given how much of a grand slam success the bookstore was, I really hope to see it at more cons in the future.

Am I sad that this last Bronycon is over? Of course I am, in some way. I don't really feel it right now, but maybe it'll really hit me later. I don't know. What I do know is that I'll always have the memories with me, one last hurrah with friends both new and old, and I don't intend for it to be the end of our story. We'll find a way to come back together once more, we all will, and it will be like nothing happened. At least, that's what I hope.

As for now, I'm deathly tired from several straight days of adventuring and partying, laughing and joking, and meeting so many amazing people over the brief few days I had to share with them all in Baltimore. To everybody I got to exchange words and a handshake with, you're the best. It was a blast to meet you. And for those of you who couldn't come, I'm wishing you the best as well. Maybe one day we'll find a chance to meet in person at a different con.

Until then, however,

I'm so mad that I never actually came and said hi. I saw you the first day or two and figured there'd be plenty of time, and then didn't see you again.

Seems like the story of half the con. There were so many fimfic notables I wanted to get the chance to talk to and it just never happened. Guess we'll just have to go to more cons and hope to cross paths at one of them!

I agree, it was a fun con., though I could've done without the heat and the humidity.

There are other cons, this is the end of nothing but another pony con.

Keep Calm and Pony on!

It was pretty cool to inform you that jakkid sucks in person.

Meeting you and buying your book was okay, too, I guess.

Opposite RB, I am very pleased I was able to run into you once. :D Finding people in the dealer's room is hard.
