    I Get It Now

So, for the first time ever in the almost-twelve years I've been in this fandom, I finally got around to commissioning art of one of my OCs.

    Behold!

    Last day of Bronycon.

I figured, what the heck, I might as well try something crazy.

I'll be bringing some snacks from my home country into Quills and Sofas for everypony to try.

    Playing Spot the Brony

Man, walking around Baltimore is just surreal. :twilightoops:

I can see pony plushies sitting in hotel windows and sticking out of backpacks. I can hear snippets of horse-talk on the street.

And I might've even been in the presence of horse-famous people. I'm pretty sure I walked right past Silver Quill this morning. :rainbowderp:

    What's it like at Bronycon?

With Season 9 wrapping up G4 and 2019's being the last Bronycon, it looks like it's as good a time as any to actually go to one of these.

As for what exactly it is, those who've read my stories might remember the one where Flash Sentry gets peer-pressured into eating a certain tropical fruit...

I think I saw a similar story play out a furry convention, actually. They had to clear out the hotel because someone had (accidentally?) caused a cloud of chlorine gas to form.

I can already see the news anchors try to keep straight face as they have to explain someone cleared out the hotel with durians :pinkiehappy: Now all we need is someone to bring cans of Surströmming. Preferably in a Rockhoof cosplay.

Northerner bronies, get on that, would ya?

loved that story... xD was hilarious

I am so... hesitant

Aww, come on! On the one day I couldn’t attend! I absolutely would have tried some.

It maybe insensitive of me, but I for one don’t really understand why some people cannot stand the aroma of durians. I like the fruit enough, and that’s from a guy who doesn’t like fruits in general.

Or maybe it’s just my bad smelling. *sniff sniff*

Well, I’ll gice them a taste. I plan on hanging out here all day as well.

I love durian! But the smell... yeah. And something I found out after I ate my first one (that nobody had warned me about): It smells just as bad coming out as going in. :twilightoops:

I’m down! You still there?

Yep, still here!

Aw, it's freeze dried. Hardly any smell at all! It tastes fairly mild, freeze dried. And no stampede from the stench!

That was awesome. Thank you!

Thanks for bringing them, even if my stomach didn’t particularly enjoy it!

Not bad!

Heh, unusual, but I'd have it again. Funny that I remembered the story without having read the blog post. Thanks for sharing!

NO. BAD Wise Cracker. NO surströmming in indoor public venues.

Oh darn. I'm sorry about that. :raritydespair:

It's alright. I'll just have to explore the extreme stinkitude and tastitude of the durian using my vivid, fertile imagination. It might not be accurate, but I'll still consider it to be exquisite, in both good and bad ways.

I love durian (durian ice cream is the best), and I've smelled way worse stuff than fresh durian (hey, at least this is natural), but good fresh durian is so hard to find outside of SE Asia. Last time I went to Singapore to see family I missed the start of durian season by ONE DAY...:twilightangry2: :raritycry:
