A long needed update on Ponest Dungeon:

I sincerely want to apologize to any readers who have been patiently waiting for Arc 3. I’ve been sitting on four completed chapters for Ponest Dungeon, specifically the Arc 3 Prologue through the third chapter, all because I wanted to release Arc 3 all at once. Due to several life issues, I’ve been unable to make the progress I’ve wanted in compiling, editing, and completing the last seven

So, did anyone else see that there was a Rescue Rangers movie coming out… with Chip riding Fluttershy?

It has Seth Rogan and JK Simmons, so… umm. Is it bad that I want to watch it just for the ponies?

Me and CoffeeMinion are at BronyCon!

He was able to get some books at the book store, but alas, we were too late to pick up some favorites that I wanted.

But we will not despair!

There will be books to be had!

Or something!

SOMETHING!

Me and CoffeeMinion mugged you for your sweet, sweet horsewords. :pinkiecrazy:

hope you're having a blast

We are, it’s exhausting though.

5100252
Today? I’m playing Darkest dungeon and getting story inspiration.

5101476
Certain classes do not play how I expected. There were many deaths.

5101624
How bad were the deaths? Like normal bad or Dark Souls bad?

5102538
One party wipe with a few characters whose main mechanic is shifting positions, but they all contradicted each other.

The other was me losing Solaire of Astora to the hag pot when it dumped him out and then she immediately meat tenderized the party and gakked him.

5102572
Naw, it’s standard Darkest Dungeon. If you don’t suffer occasional total party wipes due to incorrect party compositions, then you’re probably playing on radiant.

And Solaire was one of my primary damage dealers, so him in the pot was no good.

5102701
Sounds like a pretty challenging game

5102946
More like grueling. The game is all about risk management and planned sacrifices. You will lose characters, despite your best efforts. So you try to mitigate and go “ok, healing the guy I like, hopefully this other guy survives the death’s door strikes.”

5102974
Oh my. It's going to punish you one way or another.

5102986
One of the bosses forces you to kill your own characters as you defeat it.

5102994
Is it hard? To have to kill one of them? Do you bond with them?

5103979
Sort of on the bonding. You wind up with favorites. The characters all gain quirks and things that you grow attached to. Typically you go into the fight knowing that you will have to kill some of your guys.

5104190
Sounds like a bit of a real experience if a big quest like this was real

5104516
It’s definitely a Lovecraftian type of thing to do. I’m actually kind of surprised they don’t have more bosses like that, with guaranteed deaths in the party. It would drive home that you are essentially throwing these people into a meat grinder.

5104527
Victory cannot be achieved without sacrifices

5104748
True, and that means the only recourse is revenge.

And revenge is a dish that is best served with cake left out in the rain.

5104771
Well at least the cake is moist :3
