Psst! Over Here! · 2:41am Jul 27th, 2019
About time I've hacked into this! Jeez for a fanfic author's computer from another dimension you think it would have been easy to get into. Turns out I have to make a journey into cyberspace just to get into this guy's blog! Ugh, anyway, hello! I'm the ex-spirit of Chaos, the lovable, fan-serving, walking surrealist painting Discord! And I've taken the trouble to come all this way to make an announcement so here it goes.
(Clears throat.)
Chances are, you might have noticed that the author's current story he's working on "My Little World," isn't exactly going to what he'd hoped. That as much as he tries to put out chapters, it hasn't gotten onto the feature page on a website about fictional talking ponies. Now, why do I bring this up? Simple, a while ago, the author and I have made a bet. That if this story doesn't do as well as the original story it was based on, then I shall have a chance to shine! That's right, giving how things are going, there's a really good chance that I shall grace my brilliance once again. How you may ask?
I want the author to make a third, follow up story on a series that has captured your imaginations and intelligence. By the time this author gets through with his doom to fail sequel, he shall be forced to write another book on me teaching philosophy! But what shall it be about? What sort of subjects will I tackle with my powers and using plain English that upset the academics out there for not using long complicated Latin words?
That's where all of you come in!
That's right! I'm reaching out to all of you to give this clueless author the motivation, the inspiration, and the need to satisfy an audience by your suggestions. Now hold up! Not so fast! If this is going to work, then he must have a few criteria to work off with. It's all very simple you see:
1 - It must be something relatable to everyone.
2 - It must be something that's useful.
3 - And it must be something timeless. That means no philosophy that has just been thought up and is on the mainstream just because it is. No! This is something that was true when it was thought up and it can withstand the test of time.
And you know what? Maybe it doesn't have to be about the students. If these problems are so universal, then maybe I should get a visit from others too? Starlight alone could probably use a few pointers...
Oh! I got to go, the author is coming back so I must disappear for now. So until then, I'll see you all a little later.
Discord out!
How about governance/authority and the duty of rulers? Given Twilight's situation 'tis quite topical, and there's nothing quite like a benevolent tyranny to spark "discussion". I recommend The Arthashastra by Kautilya, an ancient Indian book on the proper way for a king to rule. The practical manual to Machiavelli's theoretical treatise.
Maybe you could look at Absurdism, though I can't really remember if that has been covered already or not. I think it's an interesting philosophy.
Or you can go over Cynicism and the strangeness that was Diogenes with it.

These things: Are they relatable? Are they useful? Are they timeless?
