You remember our venerable story, opulent and imperial? · 7:32pm Jul 25th, 2019
Hi there! This is for everypony who is following my story “Ponest Dungeon.”
Arc 1 is up and posted, and I’m working on Arc 2.
Now, the way I did Arc 1, I didn’t release any chapters until I had the entirety of the Arc written, and edited enough that I could do quick polishing edits and post a chapter a day until it was completely posted. This resulted in a much more coherent storyline and also made it so that we were able to put the break on a natural break point. It also let me write 17 “skeleton” chapters, with just the “bare bones” of what I felt was needed for the overarching plot, and allowed me to go back and put in all of the nice things afterwards.
Now, I’ve done other stories a different way, where I try and write, edit, and release chapters as soon as I complete them. I’ve noticed that this tends to make the work suffer a bit. It can make a storyline that gets a little contradictory, and also makes it so that I have unintended hiatuses when I hit a chapter that
I’m just not in the mood to write, or if I hit a snag and can’t think of a way to round off a chapter.
So... I’m thinking that I want to do the same thing with Arc 2 that I did with Arc 1. It may mean a little more time before I start posting chapters again, but it means you will be guaranteed consistent progress of chapters, and a genuine stopping point, as opposed to getting hung up mid Arc.
Anyways, that’s my thoughts. If you have any questions, suggestions, or comments, please let me know.
Well, you’ve seen me at my best and worst with update schedules, and I feel like this is a pretty satisfying way to go. People get a whole arc, which while different than a complete story, takes less time to deliver and at least has a sensible natural stopping point.

That’s what I figured. Sure, I could try for a one chapter per two week update schedule, but it would suffer greatly. More so than the characters themselves. And let’s be honest, they need to suffer more than the story itself.
I... still need to finish reading Arc 1, so I'd be okay with a wait before Arc 2 starts getting published, personally.
You should do whatever you feel comfortable doing, though
While I was reading this story I thought of some character/classes ideas some obviously did not happen though.
Rarity/Antiquarian: Rarity in the show has great gem finding abilities.
Pinkie Pie/Jester: Need I give explanation?
Fluttershy/Houndmaster: Communicate with animals.
Also Harmony magic is vestal and chaos magic is occultist. It will be interesting to see how Twilight occultist is the element of magic.

Just remember that we’re not done yet; the story is only about 1/4 of the way in. More characters will be revealed as we go.
Rarity as an antiquarian: She’s set as a Grave-robber.
Pinkie Pie as a jester: In my original plans, yes. It seems like this is a given. But I’ve changed it, for reasons that will become evident during Arc 2.
Fluttershy as houndmaster: She talks to animals, yes. But I do not have her as a houndmaster. Her penchant for completely losing her cool made me cast her as something different.
You’re sort of right on the magics, sort of. I suppose eldritch magic could be considered chaos magic, but I’ve separated it from what Discord would use, should he ever decide to show himself.
