Book! Trotcon! BronyCon! New Stories Soon! · 7:44pm Jul 23rd, 2019
My goodness do I have a ton of news!
Look at this prime bughusband material! Resist the snuggles? You cannot.
First off, I found Thorax on Fimfiction and hunted him down:
Strategically-placed mantlerbles! These lips have already seen a hundred kisses.
The bed is from Trotcon, which I just attended and had a great time, with a little help from Admiral Biscuit, Morning Sun, and Holly Oats, among many others. I also wrote a pretty nice minific for the Speedfics-R-Us panel hosted by ROBCakeran53, which I'll be posting tomorrow morning. Is my authorship ever-dependent upon my terrible, terrible foalhood? Yes. Yes, it is.
A brief comment for my Candy Mane sequel: I think I know why it did so poorly! I forgot to add groups. This is what I get for being severely depressed for six months and forgetting how Fimfiction works. I've added them now, though it's a bit late to the party. I'll try not to make that mistake with my upcoming fic.
Okay! Now, bookstuff for BronyCon. Here's a peek:
What is it with me and 'lings lately? Ain't tellin'.
This is the proof copy. The cover was way too dark so I retooled it (thanks to Harwick for the glorious artwork, and slimewiz on Derpi for the interiors) but it will look something like this sneak peek here.
Lovely Darkness is a 400+ page anthology of twenty-one of my Friendship is Magic stories about love and the best of intentions in dark times. It'll be $20 at BronyCon, or $25 plus shipping on Lulu. Which twenty-one stories, you ask? The ones that fit the theme which I also happened to like enough.
This includes two of the stories from Dead and Loving It, Dying for Attention and Celestia's Vacation (which is not confusing because I do use Oxford commas), which are in the mix somewhere. The rest of the stories are, in order:
Why am I listing every story? Because I've been making changes to them repeatedly over the past three weeks! So some of them have improved quite a bit (mostly The Clarity of Darkness, but there were many revisions to The Price of a Smile and some of the others).
So you could reread everything, but maybe you should wait for the book because it's awesome. It even has the curly versions of quotation marks! And also some amazing illustrations, and it's fun to hold in your hooves. I'm very excited about the finished product, and I hope y'all love it. I'll be bringing a metric ton to BronyCon and if you can't afford one I'll probably throw one at you for free because this isn't about the money for me.
Note: I've been considering moving some of my more-What-The-Fetlock stories to another account, because this book means my extended family can find my Fimfiction page and I have a few T-rated stories that are absolutely appalling in spite of the rating (a source of pride). But then again I kind of don't care about anything anymore and a big part of me just wants to see what happens when horse apples hit the fan, so I'm leaning toward doing nothing.
Okay... so, what's next for Trixie?
Depression is a little better now that narcotics are being used less, thanks to my new medicinal Treehugger snack prescription. So I can write horsewords again, which means:
Updates to TSJ and Geldings, because apparently I don't know when to take 'horse jesus please stop' for an answer!
I have a new epic drama I'm working on. I'm going to recycle some characters from Open Ends and make the story about a character from the show whose life is dramatic, fascinating, and completely unexplored. I'll be releasing it in chapter format, and I doubt I'll have it done in advance. It'll be kind of a long haul like my other incomplete stories, but worth.
I'm working on a sequel to Innocence, Equestria that covers the events the reader didn't witness. As much as I'd like to make it T-rated-disturbing, it will probably degenerate into porn by the second chapter, so it'll probably be M, and might be my first Porn story.
There's a story I'm writing for an old Writeoff I couldn't enter because depression, and it's classic Trick Question fare. I planned on having it completed a month ago, but then BronyCon Bookstore time happened. This may be the next story I publish after the minific tomorrow, if I can work on it hard enough.
However, there will probably be a slight delay on story stuff because it is time to get my life back together which means cleaning and organizing things and my house is a disaster area. But, in the worst case, there should be updates the week after BronyCon.
Hope to see many of you at BronyCon! And don't worry, poni isn't going anywhere. We're just left with the hardcore fans now.
I had to laugh at this -- legitimately one of the things I look for to separate the mares from the fillies in a self-pub book.
Glad the con went well and the depression's a bit better.
If you're bringing a lot of copies of your book, I might pick one up after all; one concern I've had about casually buying from the Bookstore is, due to the limited supply, depriving people who really wanted a particular book. And unfortunately most of your stories for me are still on my long "to look at later" list.
Good luck on the life-getting-together!
(And hooray for the Oxford comma! :))
pssst, save me a book to buy, please.
Oxford commas are sexy.
It's good to hear you're doing and feeling better, Trix. Looking forward to seeing you at BronyCon. Would you sign my book for me?
Hi Trick Question! I just want to say I am very much looking forward to seeing you at BronyCon again! Also, my voice to text automatically capitalized your name, which is really cool!

Sure! It will look weird, however, because I prefer to sign in Primal.
Because changelings are awesome.
Thanks for the hug

I'll give you as many as you like and then some!
