Okay, let's try this again!
Greetings friends and story viewers! Let's not dance around the bush! The big question a lot of you are asking me: 'where is more of Spectacular Seven?' The answer: it's on its way!
As some of you might remember, I said way back in January I was going to take a short break to re-read Long Road to Friendship and the first two volumes of SS to keep myself aware of where I had come from and recapture some of the tone from the first story for Volume III. And then, well... Sunset?
You know what they say.
And by shit, I mean school. But, I did manage to read through my stuff and remember things I had forgotten. Some of them minor, some of them integral to the plot. Which then led me back to the outlining board to iron out some of the wrinkles still in said plot. Of course, get rid of one wrinkle, you find another.
Basically, I've gone back to trying to reach perfectionism with this story and triple checking the plot is ironclad, bullet-proof, nigh unsinkable before writing too much more of it. I'm... close...ish.
But, so you guys aren't waiting until August or, Celestia forbid, September before an update, I have good news!
Chapter 5 will be posted this coming Saturday, the 27th!
I was trying to wait until I could promise the chapters would be popping out at a consistent weekly rate again, but between outlining, working on Maker's Reject and another story coming soonish, catching up on Novel Idea's Wavelengths series and a few other stories, job hunting, and wasting time playing video games, actually writing SS is taking longer than I would like.
And I left you guys on a cliffhanger for like, six months. I'm mean, but y'all don't deserve that... yet.
So, this should tide you over until I'm done nitpicking my own plot. But wait, there's more!
Remember how I said I had forgotten things? Well, in my efforts to remember them and tighten up the plot, I have made some addenda to Volume III's current chapters. Some of them are aesthetic changes, others are a little important or will foreshadow something important. I encourage you to give it a read, but, for your convenience, I will give a short summary here.
Chapter 1:
- Sunset thinks more about the state of magic in the human world and dwells more on her own magic now. I placed an emphasis on her relief that she knows her magic is good, and some excitement about having magic again.
- The rest of the Spectacular Seven are currently not invited to the wedding.
Chapter 2:
- Artemis gives a short explanation of why the need the Rainbow of Light against Tirek instead of just using the rainbow laser alicorn from before.
Chapter 3:
Nothing changed actually.
Chapter 4:
- Added a little bit more to Moondancer's scene. I'll let you guys find it on your own and deem it important or not.
- Sunset tries a little harder to get her powers to do something after she ponies up in front of Twilight and Selena.
Plus, small things, just changes in descriptions and fixing some typos. Again, up to you if you want to read through it again for the full scope, or just to catch up.
So yeah, Chapter 5 coming Saturday. More to follow as soon as I get my shit together! There's also a new, shiny, cover art in the works! Super excited about that!

Whooooo! New chapter coming! Just have to make it through a long, hard week of work. I can't wait to see how chapter 5 of volume III will go; this week may be busy, but with some changes made to the volume I'll definitely give them a read and enjoy both the old and the new. I hope your writing and job hunting and everything else goes well. We're all rooting for you and Sunset!
