talktotransformer.com is an amazing resource. It's a neural net trained on vast amounts of English text from the Internet, and you can give it some seed text to start with and it'll try to autocomplete it. If you give it the first sentence or two of an article or story, it'll write several more paragraphs that are sortof-half-plausible. Try it with the first sentence of your favourite fanfic.

But another fun thing to do with it is give it lists of things. It'll try to compose more things in the list. Guess what? I did it with pony names, and the results are very funny.

How did you get it to create a list?

Although damn, it is fun. I typed in "I am a pony and my name is" and got:

I am a pony and my name is Twilight Sparkle." She says, holding the unicorn she was once called "Twilight".

Equestria Girls: In the episode "Rainbow Dash" Princess Celestia says, "You know, Twilight, I'm a pony and I'm not scared of anyone like you. I'm in charge here!"

I originally had that list a bit longer but then that didn't leave much room for generated names. I think I cut a few of the one-dictionary-word names like Rarity and Spike to get it to generate slightly more multi-word names.

I dunno, I think I could see Sledgehammer and Crowbar as ponies. Probably ponies with those old timey burglar masks breaking into some place. So yeah, eyebrow raisings would be appropriate.

Cucumber Jelly on the other hand... I mean, ponies have somewhat different tastes, so that might not be as strange as it sounds to me. Maybe?

As for 'The Wiggler', that sounds more like a nickname for a toddler that won't sit still than anyone's given name.

I Kinda like Warpaint and Shelter From the Storm though.

Tried it with the first sentences of most of my favorites list. Amusing stuff for the most part. Sometimes it seems to get the tone just about right, sometimes it goes in a completely different direction. Sometimes it says Pinkie Pie is 'little more than a horrible death machine' despite a fairly innocuous prompt.
