    Story Update?

"Hey, that was a weird ass post yesterday. Does that mean there's a story update coming?"

No, I just thought it would be funny in the moment.

    "Will there be?"

Blog #24 - Happy 4th and I Am Still Alive

So since my last post, it's been... a little bit of time. Only a little less than four months...

In that time I've changed positions at work a few times and I'm now working a lot more. I haven't had the time to write, but I'm gonna try and force myself back into it, guys.

Anyways, hopefully, I'll post something again here soon.

    Best,
    Backslasherton

    Blog Post #22 - 8+ Years

Jesus Christ, it's been over eight years since I joined this website. Eugh. Time flies, I suppose.

So, what would I say of my time on this website? A few words describe it, though they carry mixed emotions.

Blog Post #10 and Textbook Soldier Mini-Hiatus · 5:44am Jul 8th, 2019

Yes, the dreaded words are here. No, not "New Blog Post from Backslasherton" I mean "Story Hiatus". No, I'm not not writing, I'm just not writing new stuff (temporarily). I've been rereading Textbook Soldier to try and remember everything, and I felt the entire time that there was no sense of coherency. Like, nothing really felt connected and planned. What was worse, still, is that I started a lot of subplots that I forgot about or that were irrelevant to the story. And then...

There's the end of chapter 4, and the beginning of chapter 5... ugh.

It's so objectively terrible. Why in the world would Sunset react like that? Why would anyone? Why does anyone think that's the first and most logical explanation? It's so terrible, I hate it. So that's getting removed. Even if I rewrite nothing, I will remove those scenes, so help me God.

Also, I'm gonna try and just give Sunset a more clear voice. One that actually sounds like her and not one that switches every paragraph. I can actually tell what I was watching and where there are long gaps in between me writing based off of how I write Sunset.

Anyway, so yeah. I'm gonna be rewriting bits of Textbook Soldier. I won't publish the rewrites until I'm done with all of them, which... fingers crossed, won't be very long.

So yeah, I'm sorry about this, guys. I really wanted to get Chapter 10 out as soon as possible, but I really can't stand continuing the story where it is.

Shameless plug

But, if you wanna come chat with me and possibly get to see what's going on with the story before everyone else, come join my Discord server here. If you join, you can get editor/pre-reader roles. Plus, if there's anything you wanted to say about the story directly to me, that's where you can do it.

Alright, shameless plug over.

I went to a Vietnam Reenactment recently. It was super interesting. It was basically a three-day romp in a national forest in Louisiana, and my squad and I were basically straight out of a movie. It was hilarious. I took a period accurate camera, too, and I'm still waiting on the film to get developed. I may upload some photos here when they come in.

Alright, hopefully, next time you hear from me it's not gonna be an apology for taking so long. See you then!

What part of the war did you guys reenact? And what unit were you in? If you don’t mind my asking that is.

The event was set in 1969, no particular battle or part of the war. There were a few units, but I was part of First Platoon, Delta Company, 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division.
