Blog Number 58: Update Edition
I am not dead. I am, however, temporarily ceasing all publication work. Quality is the watchword. Quantity is meaningless otherwise.
After much deliberation, I've concluded that the current means of story production are insufficient, and so they must be overhauled in favour of stronger foundations. As soon as this is complete, the previous shortcomings and flaws of the old system will, if all goes well, be reduced. Then the next phase of output will be and should be an improved selection of works. Adopt, adapt, and improve is the name of the game. There is always, always room for improvement.
So since this is a major issue, there will regrettably have to be another hiatus. Its duration is indefinite; previous hiatuses have been inconclusive regarding whether or not they've led to improvements, so I want to be sure this time by focusing more on research and refinement.
A lot of recent evidence indicates I'm not performing at my optimum, not even close, especially with regards to time management and technical skill. Certainly not according to my own long-term goals. That is not an acceptable or professional practice, so instead I'm not coming back until I've done more to address those behind-the-scenes flaws. Ultimately, this is about making sure the stories meet my standards of quality, and are given as much care as possible.
