My Little Pony Season 9 News 06/28/2019 · 12:18pm Jun 28th, 2019

Yes, I used a similar image some blogs ago... But it's relevant to the topic.

GOOD MORNING, FIMFICTION FANATICS!!! This is the Dramamaster829; Critic, Actor, Writer, Motivational Speaker, and Occasional Singer, keeping you up to date with the latest news for the final season of MLP! While we technically have yet to receive anything new in regards to what plans are in store for the new season, tomorrow morning the FIM community will get to see the red carpet debut of an hourly MLP special. But not just any 'Friendship is Magic' related material, but a special that once again incorporates the same animation technique as the MLP Movie released some years ago (A movie which to this day has caused a split between fans who loved it and those who felt could've been better). Without any further delays, faithful readers, once again we go over this weekend's hour-long topic properly titled:

MY LITTLE PONY: RAINBOW ROADTRIP

While we've already gone over pretty much the overall plot of this special, right off the bat we know that it is possibly a 'Rainbow Dash' centered story but there's the slightest chance that Twilight Sparkle could end up being the star. Now as we've seen in recent turn of events, Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle haven't always had strong episodes during this season or the that matter have been the center focus in which it all pays off (To this day, many fans still question if Twilight Sparkle is worthy of succeeding Celestia & Luna as the new ruler of Equestria, with her friends). But if we are to assume on the matter that this special is dedicated to Rainbow Dash, we have to wonder how long ago it was when she received this invitation for the festival only to find that along the way the town and all it's inhabitants are colorless (Which almost gives off the impression that this 'recently' happened). While it would make sense if this had happened a long time ago and this was usually an annual deal for Rainbow Dash to take part, then the plot could've had this be the first time her friends tagged along to see this 'Hope Hollow' if under the assumption Rainbow Dash usually goes. Even more interesting that it would have been a 'long' time since she had been to this town and only when she arrives does she see a rather 'drastic' change than what she remembers.

In an attempt to find a way to keep this topic relevant, if it's not the actions of a sinister villain seeking to claim the color for themselves or to avoid a similar 'The Cutie Map' scenario, I think back to a classic 'Wee-Sing' video that centered on 'color' but in a more symbolic representation. The story entitled 'Wee-Sing in Sillyville' transported two kids in the world of a coloring book in which there were many inhabitants in different colors, but they preferred to keep to their own groups and thereby setting this barrier preventing them from becoming friends due to their differences. The issue we see or what the synopsis implies is that it's possible that when the ponies lost their color or gave it away, it's possible it happened so that the ponies can be in harmony even at the cost of losing their 'hope' in a sense. Now I could be 'very' wrong on this bit of observation, in my previous blog on this matter I referred to 'other' scenarios from different forms of media that would make better sense. But given there's this desire to find a story shortly before the special's release in 24 hours, I figured I'd use this day to add more to it.

We can confirm that a private screening had taken place a month ago at the Odeon Cinema, though whether the fans enjoyed the presentation or not remains to be determined. But for those who did went at the time, once again we at the FIM community ask,

NO SPOILERS!!!!!!

*Pause* Thank you, Rarity.

You're welcome, darling.

Anyway, we know that we're not only going to get to see the premier tomorrow but it'll also eventually premier on Netflix on a later date. Even if the story itself does not live up to the expectations we were hoping for or if the characters are used to their full potential or even if there doesn't really seem to be anything at high stakes, the best we can say is that this is but a fluff piece to enjoy until the second half of the final season airs. Could there be a chance still that this special is something we 'can' watch over and over again? That I will not know for sure, but it should make for a rather interesting topic for FIM react folks to dive right into. And yet the big question remains:

What do YOU think? Be sure to leave a comment below at your earliest convenience.
