Journal Entry Volume 4 - Chapter 11 · 7:35pm Jun 23rd, 2019

Dear Journal,

The Hero of Light and I went to the New Beginnings Orphanage in the wee hours of the morning. We and a few guard took every file in Matron Tempest's office back to Light's Hope and placed them in the commander's office! What he hopes to learn from them I don't know. But... I get the feeling he honestly cares about what has been done there in the past! Given the chance, I'm sure he'll do his best to right this wrong!

He invited the Element Bearers to Light's Hope to appraise them of the situation in Vanhoover and Matron Tempest. They... didn't really take the news all that well. I guess that's to be expected, as they're just civilians! Afterwards they stayed for a bit of tea and some snacks. The commander... he seems to be pretty close to them! But at the same time, doesn't want to shelter them from the horrible truth!

A... a hydra came to the tea party via the commander's gauntlet. I still don't get that one myself! He was known simply as the Marquis and seemed to have the complete trust of the Element Bearers AND the commander! He told the orphans a rather interesting story about how he met the Hero of Light! The commander has certainly had his share of adventures!

I just don't understand! What is it that motivates the commander?! When I confessed to him what had happened to Raven and I the other day... I thought for sure I'd be disciplined for what I had done! If not for my crime, then for taking a mare to a cheap hotel room! I mean... what else could I have done for Raven?! There was no way I could've left here there like that!

Either way... I am NOT ashamed of what I did! I am NOT going to apologize for what I did! And I am NOT going to let this happen to somepony as sweet as Raven ever again! Lord Goldstone... you'd better pray that you and I never meet! /

Always be honest in all things. You're friends will appreciate that over a coverup any day!
