Help me find it: CMCs edition · 2:19pm Jun 23rd, 2019
Ugh, I'm so needlessly angry right now, you have no idea. D: But the good news is, my CMC image folder is nicely sorted. It left behind a rather large number of images with unknown sources, though.
You know the drill, I'm looking for artists (which I sometimes know; Aphexangel for instance did all the Stalkerloo stuff) and an original image source so I can name the image properly. I've already run these through Saucenow, GIS, IQDB and TinEye, but history has shown I'm actually bad at using Derpibooru so who knows. :B

ScootabotMossadeq is an OC by 7nights, originally posted on their now-deleted Tumblr but now uploaded to Derpibooru.Regarding the Scootaloo shoe gif that I've seen floating around for years, it is posted on Derpibooru with the source being the Rainbow Freakin' Dash Tumblr posted earlier by 5078626, run by ScherzicScherzo. However, in the comments of the Derpibooru post, Scherzo claims that they are not the original source and that they do not remember the original source.
This Reddit thread has the earliest date I can find posted, and the artist seems to be in the comments, but their account has been deleted. Going back nearly 8 years, the artist seems to be a user called Creativename56.
Searching this user returned an old Drawfriend, referring to a gif posted there that's sourced from Reddit. Two comments say that the original posted source (it seems the mods updated the source after reading the comments) is inaccurate, and both point to that Reddit thread and tag it is being by Creativename56. A quick look at the animation shows that the two are similar enough for a conclusive match.
ETA: I updated both of those animations on Derpibooru with the proper artist tag.

Booyah! :D I really should try and update things on derpi when I find artists for unsourced stuff, shouldn't I? Not that I know if I'm doing it right. :B

For the Derpibooru stuff, a lot of it is searching really generic tags and just sifting through pages of stuff. Most of the time, the images you post here are poorly tagged on Derpibooru, so you have to resort to things like, for example, "safe," "babs seed," "glasses". It's a slow process, but generally if you can get under 1000 posts, it's not terrible.

That's fair. It's definitely easier with fewer pages, but it's rare that that's the case because of poor tagging.
