    General Writing Announcement

    Hi guys,

Just wanted to let you know that I'm going to be suspending my long form fic writing for a bit (hopefully just a couple of months) because...

I'm going to try to write an actual original novel.

    Reoganization under way.

Okay, so, I have decided to relocate my erotica stories to their own dedicated account. So if you see any of my saucier works disappear from this profile, don't panic. They're still around, just in a different place.

Once everything's finalized, I'll let everybody know where they can go to find them.

    Once more with feeling...

So, yeah, I need some financial help again. This time, however, it isn't quite as dire. I just came up short on money for my rent and a couple of bills that get automatically deducted from my bank account. I'm already halfway to my goal, so if any of you could help push it over the top, that woul dbe great. Any amount helps. Thanks.

    Thank you!

Let's Talk Doomsaying · 3:54am Jun 19th, 2019

Fandoms get weird when the end of the fandom's base is coming. I've seen it multiple times. And with it comes the doomsaying.

The god damn doomsaying.

As we all know, Friendship is Magic is ending after the current season and as of this upcoming Saturday (6/22/2019), we'll officially have reached the halfway point of the final season in the US. We know that DHX has officially wrapped production on both Friendship is Magic and Equestria Girls.

And this is where the doomsaying comes into play. Because Hasbro has not made any official statement on the fate of Equestria Girls. Yes, logically, to avoid brand confusion, Equestria Girls' days are numbered, most likely ending when G5 starts. But right now there's this undercurrent in the fandom who wants to declare Equestria Girls over when there hasn't been any formal announcement of that happening.

No, DHX isn't producing the series anymore, and we've gotten word from Boulder Media that they haven't been asked to produce EG either. But the fact that we haven't heard ANYTHING about the fate of EG shouldn't be taken as a sign that things are over. The next special, "Sunset's Backstage Pass," has been announced for air in late July (June in Mexico) and there are fans who are constantly spouting "IT'S THE LAST SPECIAL!" with no evidence of that other than neither of the production studios involved in EG before are working on the show.

THERE'S MORE THAN TWO ANIMATION PRODUCTION COMPANIES OUT THERE. And the writing team is under the employ of Hasbro, so it's entirely possible that the show could move to a third company for future projects.

But, for the sake of argument, let's say this special is the last one. That doesn't mean we're not getting anymore EG content after it. The gap between Spring Breakdown and Backstage Pass is considerably narrower than the one between Forgotten Friendship and Rollercoaster of Friendship. If you want to do the math...

Season 1 of the EG Digital series had 47 episodes. 10 of those episodes were five parters for Forgotten Friendship and Rollercoaster. That leaves 37 episodes1. If we assume that Season 2 has the same amount of total episodes, we've had 27 episodes released so far between YouTube and the Discovery Family App. That leaves 20 left. We'll assume (for now) that Backstage Pass will be split up into five parts2. That still leaves 15 more shorts that could be released, and there's enough left over for a third special in there somewhere.

There have been assorted rumors floating around for a while that Season 3 was confirmed at Toy Fair, but a counter-rumor turned up stating that the person who said there was a season 3 mistook the current shorts for a new season. The show staff, aside from confirming that DHX is out and Boulder's not picking up the baton, haven't said anything about the show ending. There's apparently a rumor that there were five total MLP specials planned across both series for this year. We have the Rainbow Roadtrip special coming up and we saw The Best Gift Ever. We've also seen Spring Breakdown and Backstage Pass is coming up. That leaves one special left if the rumor is true. It's a 50/50 chance it's FiM or EG.

The fact of the matter is, we don't know ANYTHING about what's happening with Equestria Girls. We don't know if it's over, we don't know if it's continuing. As I learned during my time at Disney, "Nothing is official until the press release goes out."

Most of this doomsaying seems to come out of anxiety that Equestria Girls will just end without a satistfying conclusion. To me, this is the "NO HUMANZZZ! ONLY PONIEEEZZZZ!" mentality that Equestria Girls is inferior and will just end with a standard episode. This is possible, I'll admit. I'm more sanguine about that possibility than most because I'm an 80s kid and I could sit here and list countless shows that ended with no resolution. I'm used to that.

But I don't think they will. I think the folks at Hasbro know there's part of the fandom that enjoys Equestria Girls as much, if not more, than FiM. And when the end comes3, I think they'll give our girls a send off we can be satisfied with. I have enough faith in the writers and the team in charge where that's concerned.

So can we please all chill the hell out until we get more information and just enjoy what we get until G5 hits?

1 For the purposes of this discussion, each Choose The Ending short is counted as one episode, as opposed to one episode per ending.

2 Spring Breakdown was split into 6 parts for YouTube. The same may happen for Backstage Pass.

3 And the end is coming, I harbor no delusions about that. But I don't think it's coming as fast as the doomsayers are claiming (or possibly praying for.)

I understand the anxiety of not knowing what the future may hold for EG, but I've learned to take everything with a grain of salt unless it comes from an official source.

Though I suppose it makes me a bit of a hypocrite for getting hyped over a possible third season just because of a rumor. Speaking of which, the Instagram page is no longer there.

Some certainty would be nice, though.

Maybe the final special will finally be that crossover between the two shows that a small number of people have been wanting.

Until I hear or read anything from an official source, I am going to continue on as though the show is going to continue on.

Well said. Very well said
