I'm back, kinda... Also, commissions are open!

Hey there everyone, after a long break, I'm finally back after years away. Between switching my major, my parents' divorce being finalized, moving once again, and plenty of therapy, the last two years have been pretty distracting. I've started to get back into writing, though unfortunately I feel I'm still a little blocked with regards to my existing stories like The Noble Guardians. I wish to

    Status Update

Hey everypony, Nobreiner here. Due to my schedule becoming increasingly packed as a result of college, I've decided to suspend my writing until I'm out for the summer. I'll see you all soon, and I hope to see you all in the future!

Progress Update (for real this time...)

Hey there everypony, Nobreiner here. Just wanted to say I am so sorry for the lack of updates I've made lately. You see, I planned to complete the next chapter of Noble Guardians over Christmas Break. Unfortunately, there was a medical emergency in my family and long story short, they're going to be in physical therapy for the rest of their life and my vacation was essentially ruined. Also, after

Status Update (I have an excuse this time! ...Kinda) · 6:15pm Nov 10th, 2012

Hey there everypony, Nobreiner here. I just wanted to let you know that I have begun work on the next chapter of The Noble Guardians, as well as my new fanfic story, The Wolf and The Shepard. Unfortunately I have gotten essentially zero work done since Tuesday. 4 guesses as to what's been distracting me. I will be discussing this, as well as my reaction to the Season 3 premier, so just bear in mind that this will contain both spoilers for Halo 4 and the first two episodes of Season 3. If you aren't worried about that, then read on!

So let me give you my reaction to Halo 4: FUCKING AWESOME!!! I mean, it was truly a masterpiece, with combat that actually flows, and by that I mean there were moments where I would go from spraying down two grunts, to meleeing another, to using the rest of the clip to empty an elite's shields, to switching to my pistol to finish him off, to chucking a frag grenade to blow up 3 grunts, to using the rest of my pistol clip to kill 3 jackals, then the last bullet to wound another, allowing me to finish it off with a melee. Now take everything I just said, and have it occur in the span of 5 seconds, and you'll get a feel for the pace of this game. Second, was the graphics. I mean, Oh. My. GOD. They were fucking amazing. For God's sake, Lasky? He honestly looks like a real person. Finally the ending was so sad I very nearly started tearing up (something only the endings to Forrest Gump and Saving Private Ryan have been able to do so far in my life). Oh, and there's this one level where you fly a ship through a trench and I honestly felt like Luke Goddamned Skywalker. Anyway, I've been playing this basically nonstop for the last four days, so sorry for not getting much writing done, I hope you guys understand.

Oh and another thing, I had pre-ordered the limited edition, which comes with a special edition of Forward Unto Dawn, so I've waited until now to watch it, and let me just say, amazing. Not much to say besides that, other than I feel I was especially able to appreciate ti after knowing who Lasky is going to become by the time of Halo 4. It really gave me a full feel for his character.

Now for my reaction to the Season 3 premier: BUCKING AWESOME!!! This episode was great, truly nothing less than I expected, which was quite a bit. It was interesting, epic, funny, dramatic, flat out awesome! The songs were great, and my absolute favorite part was that they actually let Spike DO SOMETHING FOR ONCE! I mean, seriously, I was waiting for Spike to get his time in the limelight, so I was freaking ecstatic seeing this! If there is one thing I'm a bit sad about though, it's that the main bad guy, King Sombra, is really one-dimensional. His personality, motivations, and even his actions can be summed up as "He's a bad guy". I mean, even Chrysalis was given a reason for attacking Canterlot, she was trying to feed her children, albeit in the most evil way possible. Discord had an honestly entertaining personality. Sombra, he's just a shadow. He has barely any dialogue, and never even addresses anypony directly, not even a "You shall not stop me Twilight Sparkle!" or anything like that, just "NO!" and "RAWR!". He's actually pretty boring, albeit intimidating for a pony. Nevertheless, the premier was amazing, and I think it sets a very good standard for the rest of the season. I'm already impatient for the next episode.

Anyway, those are my thoughts on Halo 4 and Season 3, so I hope you enjoyed this, and I'll see you in the next chapter. I'll be spending all day today writing, so hopefully I'll get to make some decent progress. I'll see you all in the next chapter, so until then, Peace!

nuff said.

Yea, Sombra was kind of one sided, but the rest was fun. Also, no Halo 4 spoilers! I have yet to so much as touch the game.
