Journal Entry - Volume 4 - Chapter 2 · 8:23pm Jun 15th, 2019
Dear Journal,
Today I went back to Light's Hope with a bit of a training exercise in mind! A simple game of hide and seek with my squad being "it"! Maybe not my best idea, as they made quite a mess looking for me! Oh well... they can clean it up now!
I do wish I had known Canterlot had picked today to send the rest of my base's support staff! Seeing the base in such condition made them think we had been attacked! In any case, I've been given a cadre of Royal Guards along with several other support staff!
Sergeant Flash Sentry - At least someone here comes in with experience leading troops! He was very level headed when he arrived. Even when he thought the base had been invaded!
Saffron Masala - She also seemed unfazed at the thought of entering a potential environment! Saffron strikes me a the "get it done" kinda individual.
Raven Inkwell - While she didn't take the idea of danger well, I can't really hold that against her, as she's a secretary, not a soldier! She looks like your typical paper pusher. And I mean that with great respect, as that job would drive me crazy! At this point in time, I don't really know what to think of her! But I know Canterlot wouldn't have sent her if she couldn't do the job.
In any case, at lunch my squad appeared nervous at the sight of my meal. This troubles me, as I don't want squeamish soldiers by my side when things get rough! Ember and I will have to take them hunting and fishing in the Everfree Forest to... I don't know... toughen them up, or something. I know they won't like it, but they'll thank me for it some day!
On our way, the boys talked to me about their past growing up in an orphanage. How they were mistreated by someone named Matron Tempest. As soon as we get back I'm going to look into this for myself! You know why... journal...
You may not like your teacher's lessons, but it's their job to prepare you in the best way they know how!
