IN WHICH I REWRITE A STORY
Here is my usual music video link. It'll make more sense once/if you read the story…
So yeah. Otis Redding and Aria Blaze. If you'll be so kind to click on "Read More", I'll explain.
Three years. Tomorrow (or today if you live outside North America), June 15th, will be three years to the day since I first published Aria Blaze Steals A Burrito.
I don't think any of us could have expected what's happened since, whether you support Trump (many of my readers) or hope he takes a long walk off a short pier (me).
Still not sorry for killing Orangeglow off. I never will be. As it turns out, I've been able to factor his death into the Burritoverse AND Sunset's Recovery Arc.
A couple weeks ago, those two of y'all who regularly read my blog might have noticed that I announced a rewrite to Aria's Burrito story. The reason was because I realized that story in particular needed more world-building in it, especially around Orangeglow. Just like his pony version, I wanted to give the humanoid version more character, more motivation, and more dialogue -- showing rather than telling, as they say.
This probably shouldn't shock anyone, but 90% of Orangeglow's dialogue is actual (cited) Trump quotes. Just like with the story where I had Spike stuck in a Youtube Poop, it wasn't easy to stitch Trump's ramblings into a coherent narrative. I think I might have made Orangeglow sound more intelligent than the real thing. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.
Like I said in the postscript, "Aria 2nd Ed" is a from-the-ground-up rewrite. What that means is: I literally did not even look at the original story at any point when writing this one or before posting it. Still haven't as of writing this blog. No doubt the two stories, despite having the same basic structure and plot, are very different.
I've unpublished the original, as I said I would do, but I'll still link to it in THE GUIDE (even though that's technically against the rules; fuck 'em). I've also shuffled the timeline.
Notably, I used different music references in the new story. The original contained among other shoutouts a Beatles reference according to one of my commenters. 2nd Ed uses Otis Redding and Simon & Garfunkel, plus one line of Queen.
Maybe the new version of the story is better, maybe it's worse, but it's closer to what I need it to be for my Aristeque (EQG) universe. Yeah, bad anagram of Equestria. Not sorry.
Peace out!
It heavily bothers me that any of your readers are Trump supporters or can't handle you making fun of him when he's done nothing but things that are worth mocking. The amount of ignorance is shockingly astounding, deeply infuriating, and absolutely depressing.

Apparently the worst thing I can do to mock Trump, besides create a parody character of him, is use his actual words as dialogue. Except for universe-specific stuff, everything coming out of Orangeglow's mouth in this story was a Trump quote.
You have no idea how happy I was to find a quote of Trump saying "Those who think my story's over are mistaken". As soon as I saw it, I knew it had to be OG's last words.
I live in a college-town (which Trump lost) in a state where Trump's popularity remains in the black and which he won overall nearly 2:1. I just assume every White person I see loves him, unless they're GLBT.
Also, as of this comment, I haven't lost any followers yet. Nor have I gained any.

That's really good to know tbh. You probably weeded them all out. Also fuck Trump supporters. I can't believe they'd still support him after everything shite about him.
I downloaded this yesterday and just read them both. This is very much an improvement over the original, both in the quality of your writing and the fact that is more accurately reflects my utter contempt for that steaming pile of pig vomit. Bravo, my good man.

May I use this?
PS -- Thank you. I almost don't care how well Aria 2.0 does in the stats. I just hoped after 3 years I could produce a story better than the original and that expanding the dialogue and metaplot made my effort worth it. I'm not usually one to do total rewrites, but this story in particular needed it.
