    Been a while...

Hi folks. How are you doing? Been a while. I like to imagine in the great solar system that if FimFic I'm some trans-Neptunian object that only occasionally comes into view intermittently before wandering out to the cold antipodes of space to which I belong. Personally life has been the same. Some original writing. Glacial progress on Homelands, but its not dead. I'm going to be at EFNW in

    Feeling better. Also, an interview.

So my temperature is almost back to normal and I feel a lot better. Hopefully in a month or two I can get an antibody test and find out if that was C19 or just flu. Anyway, either way, doing better.

I'm also going to be doing an interview for the midair pony faire on twitch. It'll be on Horizons, Homelands, and Worldbuilding in general.

    C19, cons, and other stuff.

So 2020 sucks. It just sucks. I'm sick with something and waiting on a C19 test. Hopefully it's just a flu or some junk.
But there is something good happening on the 25th. Ponyfest Online is a discord con and I'm going to be holding an hour long discussion on character creation, evolution and development.

    and the website is

Homelands isn't dead but it is on life support. · 2:09pm Jun 12th, 2019

I've written myself into a corner with homelands. It's been that way since April. On one hand I don't want the story to pad out any further. I want to get the characters to Roam for the next arc of the story. On the other, I want to avoid 'character X lives because of plot armor.' I'm hopefully going to find a way to make it work.

In other news, I will be at Bronycon all four days this year. I don't have any panels, but if you'd like to meet me, I should be in Quills and Sofas fairly regularly.

Hope to get things back on track.

Take as long as you need man, it happens to the best of us.

It's okay, take your time

Take your time. It is a wonderful story that you are telling. It is best to take your time then rush it.

Sometimes a story takes turns we do not expect.
While I remember the quote from Tom Clancy that unlike real life fiction has to make since; the way things play out can be written so it is not really plot armor. You just have to be able to justify it.

A simple decision can change everything in Real life. I know a man who got up from a boiler technicians of the watches chair as they were lighting off a boiler. Les than a minute later the fuel oil strainer let go and that chair as well the gauges on the gauge board were melted. He should have died, but he did something he normally would not do. Fate can be very fickle it seems.

Have faith in yourself and your abilities. Weather you realize it or not, you’ve got this.

Sometimes people die so that others may live.

On one hand I don't want the story to pad out any further.

Ha ha ha ha. Have you looked at the word count for Project Horizons?

If we survived that, we'll survive an extra couple hundred thousand words.

Hey man, take all the time you need. We don't mind waiting; honestly, the last arc of Project Horizons had left me so traumatized, chapter after chapter, that I actually fear updates to most of the stories I follow :twilightblush:. In all seriousness, your story is worth the wait, and if you think there is something that you could write better than what you're thinking right now, then by all means wait a little.

(Especially if this means people won't complain about "plot armor", I honestly get annoyed most of the time when people bring stuff like this up. Ugh)

I do realize that even if everybody says stuff like this it's still annoying when it takes longer time to write a chapter. I found out that it helps if I set up a date when I will definetly start working, and until then I don't think about it, spend my free time playing games or watching tv shows and stuff.

Wish I was going to Bronycon to meet you (I live in Europe :twilightangry2:); hope you'll have fun^^

I will patiently wait for you to figure things out. I am thoroughly enjoying the story and I'd hate for you to put out something you're not pleased with just to show results.

Take as long as you need, it's great just hearing you're still putting effort into it, even when it gets difficult. Run into the same kind of blocks and know how frustrating it can be, but just relax and trust in yourself, it'll come eventually. You know you've got plenty of readers that will wait however long it takes and support your work. Looking forward to whatever wonderful bit of inspiration will eventually bring out more great chapters!

We waited so long for Project Horizons when you got bogged down in that. We waited for chapters for Homelands to be released.

Don't you worry a bit, if there is one thing you have taught all of us, it is patience, and a lot of it.

If you need to don't be afraid to retcon or rewrite something you realize won't work for what you need for the narrative to work

Didn't I outline the rest of the story for you, like, three years ago? The cast eats Charity and creates a socialist utopia?

C'mon, man, get on it.

5073526 That is not good advice.

Hopefully that discord call helped jumpstart the heart.

Ah, sorry, Somber; good luck finding a way forward.

Oh, wonderful! :D Glad you're able to make it. :)

Aye, good luck, again.

Even if i haven't been reading it, i've still been cheering for you, sir. i do hope you'll be able to figure out something that will work so you can keep the story going. *waves a little pom pom for you*

Also, i hope you get to have lots of fun at Bronycon!

Also also, happy extremely belated birthday, sir.

5073546 or jumpheart the start?

eh?

ehhhhhh??

I believe in you!

I can't wait to meet you at bronycon. Also take your time and do your story how you want. We will wait.

Whatever your choice may be, I think you’re gonna make a pretty good decision! You’re quite cool and a really great writer, in fact I sorta can’t wait for anything you put out when it comes to Fallout Equestrian!

Well, I CAN wait, I just meant it by how much I love reading the works.

Anyway, I hope you find the time to enjoy yourself these days, and may your days treat you well!

Take all the time you need. It's honestly nice to see an author put so much care and thought into what they write rather than just trying to get a chapter out just to be done with it. Besides I'm just happy to hear it hasn't been abandoned.

As always, can't wait to see where the story goes next!

It’s alright I And many more are willing to wait and support you for the amazing work.
Ps: I hope you work it out

Looking forward to seeing you for the final Bronycon.

Take your time Somber, I know how hectic adulting can be. Also, how do I send art to you digitally? I got an idea brewin!

Take your time. If all else fails, you can have one of the roving mega spells blow in to disrupt things, force the party forward, and interfere with the baddies.

But what's going to happen to Captain Thrush, our favorite Jack Sparrow expy??

Looks like I "chose" the wrong time to get busy with other stuff and not really check on FimFic for... damn near two solid months.

Hope you figure out what you need to make it work, and I'll be available as a sounding board if needed. Look forward to seeing you at Bronycon.

Dude, however it turns out, I hope you know you've come a fantastically long way. Project Horizons was a massive beast of a story, and writing as much as you have for Homelands after it is quite honestly nothing short of amazing. Take the break you need, and I hope you find your answers, dude.

Also hope to see you at BronyCon, dude!

kill someone off? I don't see the aversion to it, considering 3/4 main characters died in Project Horizons.
