Haven't done much updates on this for a while since the EU Parliament election, so I guess about time. Journal link here gives finer details and links on our current status.
Although things didn't go as hoped for the Danish election, overall in Europe the Greens and others oppose of the Copyright Directive won seats in the Parliament. Which is a great development, as long they keep their promises to the people who voted them in, after seeing we do indeed speak with out votes after getting repeatedly ignored.
It is a victory, but the war isn't over just yet. Taking the Copyright Directive apart, as well as TERREG, will take a while and dedication from our new MEP. We cannot allow them to forget and must keep reminding them of the will of the people. We haven't fully won yet, not until it is gone for good and we have left the clear message that trying to censor the Internet under any fancy taglines, are a dangerous game for politicians.
Another good news are that more and more countries are gathering up to reject the broken Directive, even Poland staying true to their stance from the start and now dragging the Copyright Directive to court as first threatened, for breaking with laws for free speech and right to privacy. Not even France can keep try force the Directive into action after that, I am sure.
I don't make as many regular updates on these things right now because it is a constantly shifting battlefield and politics were never my strong suit. If you like more updates, try follow Anti-Article-13, or join the StopACTA2 Discord Server. The battle is still going on, be on watch for fake news trying to shift the battlefield through false information. Don't panic over outdated articles and always ensure the news and info you have been given are still relevant. Things are very back and forth as it is a mix of new players on the field, old ones leaving and old traitors still digging in their teeth. I have seen people panic over an article from April, despite the huge changes after the election in May. False information or outdated news can shift the battle through misinformation. So be careful and awake out there.
Thanks for any and all support so far. We are definitely going in the right direction now, but still fighting. The war isn't completely over yet!
