When I saw this scene for the first time, I was terrified. They went there, and there was very high radiation. That radiation terrified me. Or the scene with people, who clean the reactor's number 4 roof. Or firemen, who started to extinguish the fire. They didn't know that radiation is very high there [10 000 - 15 000 roetegens]. Chernobyl is just a scary movie. Imagine that you're there, and you stood for example on the reactor's roof, and you feel that your skin started the burn. You feel unimaginable pain, and you just want someone to kill you.

Chernobyl from HBO is just awesome. It's the best series I ever saw and one of the scariest movies I ever saw.

I believe you. Just describing that scene, reminded me of a scene from Elysium, the idea of dying to radiation actually scares me a bit. Not that I'm worried about going out and dying to radiation, but mass exposure like that sounds very painful, kinda like how falling into a volcano is one of the most horrible ways to die.
