Audio review number 1

So, I decided to start review mlp fanfics. I know a lot of authors have or already do this. However, the reviews I’m going to do are going to be based around audio readings of fanfics. The reason why I decided to do audio readings is because I feel more immersed in such things. Like being creeped out or laughing my ass off.

Now, what that means for me is that I’m going to have a lot more then simply reviewing a simple story, I’m also going to review audio quality, sound effects if they have any, music, and voice acting.

Note, I’m not saying that the VAs aren’t good, they just may need a better mike or something like that.

With that out of the way, our first contender is... The symbiot, by SpyroForLife, read by Mr. Snarky.

Honestly, I actually found this on accident while I was browsing YouTube for another story.

First, the story. A little fast pace for my taste, but very enjoyable. I was on the edge of my seat the entire four part series.

The audio at times was a bit off, and he would occasionally mess up a word once or twice, but nothing too distracting. The voices he used would sometimes sound the same between specific characters, and the voice effect for venom wouldn’t be there, just a weird voice that took me a bit to realize that it was venom.

In short, it was okay, a better microphone would be advised, make sure you read the story before reading, or at least read the story out loud to prevent mistakes, and make sure your effects are in place before using them, give them a bit of a test run.

Now the music. Oh... man... sometimes the music would be a bit too loud. Other times he would have music that didn’t feel like it’d fit in the story. Hell, he used the Avengers end game theme for the climax. Please, for the sake of your listeners, pick the appropriate music for your story.

Conclusion...

The reading was an okay, good, but needs a slight bit more improvement.
