This is gonna be a long post, so here's the tl;dr version up here: Chapter 130 of Songs of the Spheres is going to be a Homestuck style video with music and art, and I am currently trying to pay for that art and realize I'm gonna need more cash to do that. So if you want to help make the 130th chapter, the climax, of SotS as good as it can be, you can help! Either through commissioning me or patreon or asking me for some kind of favor or just donating. All information on funds relating to chapter 130 will go on this forum post so you all know what I'm doing with the muns. If you're an artist and want to help, please message me. This right here is proof that 130 - {S} Climax, the finale of arc 10 of SotS, has art being made for it already. Naturally, it's cropped so you can't see what's going on, but hey that's a pretty nice Corona right there isn't it?
Anyway, some of you may remember a while back that I announced the 130th chapter of Songs of the Spheres would be a video of some sort. This is still the plan. The intention is to have it be reminiscent of the old Homestuck flash animations that took place during tense parts of the story, putting aside dialogue and words for a series of dramatic images. For example, here's one:
Naturally, 130 won't have as many animating frames, but it is looking like we'll have higher quality still images. I've, so far, commissioned one artist to do roughly a sixth of the images - some of the simpler ones that needed to look the best. (You can see a Corona up there. By the way, artist is madina55rus, go appreciate their work but please don't overload them with commissions, they ain't done yet.
But yes, that's what I'm planning to do. And this is the summer I want to start doing it. Currently, 130 is slated for release in November, even though it has hardly any work done on it at all. That said, I do have opportunities to delay it, so we could consider December 31, 2019 as the final deadline. The final cost of the entire thing is expected to be around $4000 USD, and I have... about $500, and most of that is promised to madina55rus. So I need more funds, and that's where you people come in! I'm creating a forum post on the fimfiction group dedicated to keeping track of all the money I have reserved for chapter 130. [Click here for that forum post]. I'll keep track of what money came from where, for what, and how much is being spent on what aspects of the project. I won't put any spoilers for the chapter itself there, though, don't worry, going to that page will not ruin the surprise.
So, let's get into the specifics of how you can help, there are a lotta ways this can be done.
A) Commission me to write a story. I'm in the middle of summer right now and my current commission, The Final Choices, isn't going to be able to produce daily revenue. So just hire me to write something, big or small! I'll do it so long as it isn't NSFW. Rates are on the linked page. Since it's summer, I have a LOT more time to do these, so expect shorter things to be done quickly!
B) Patreon is always an option. The prices on the highest tier have dropped too!
C) If you ARE an artist and want to be involved, you can pay me for stories in images. Just PM me for that one. WILL WRITE FOR ART. Heck I could write stories for some of your other work, if you wanted.
D) Or you can just ask to be part of the project. Payment or not, if you're actually interested in participating, shoot me up.
E) Commission the art with your own money, if you want. I can tell you exactly what's needed if you send me a PM about it.
F) You can just give me money through my paypal, if you want, though if you want to be credited properly for this make sure to send me a PM with who you are as well. (though you don't have to.) ((Concerning 'is GM being shady?' Yeah, sending money directly to a paypal is kinda shady. I'm keeping myself accountable with the money status fimficiton group, so you can always know where all the money is going and where I'm getting it from.))
G) You can PM me some other idea. Seriously, I'll accept any and all help I can get. (this is the 'other' category)
A note to potential artists: if you're interested, even in working a small bit, hit me up. I'm willing to pay for art, but I certainly won't complain if anyone just wants to do it. PM me with examples of what you've done and what sort of thing's you're interested in. And if you personally know artists, hook me up with them. I already have a few on the list, but the more who might be willing to do complex pieces with a lot of characters, the better. And not all of it has to look super-duper detail-painted like the Corona up there, cartoonish Homestuck feel is fine. There are going to be ~60 images in the finished product, though some of those have alts.
Also if anyone knows minor video editing that'd help stitch the images together that'd be greeeeeeeat. But really, secondary at this point.
So, in summary again: I NEED ART / MONEY FOR ART for the 130th chapter of SotS, which is going to be a video.

I believe I'm not the only one who thinks GMBlackjack has created something special through writing Songs of the Spheres. That's why I'm putting out the call for folks to help GMBlackjack accomplish their vision for chapter 130. To incintivize donations for the completion of SotS 130, I will match all contributions made towards this effort over the next month. Upon the conclusion of 4 July, once GMBlackjack totals up the contributions he's received between 5 June through 4 July, I will make a matching donation up to $1500.
With y'all's help to contribute towards this $1500 goal over the next month, along with my donation match, GMBlackjack should be able to reach the $4000 needed to make Chapter 130 awesome with some margin available. Let's do this!
