Sorry For The Silence · 2:36pm May 14th, 2019

Hey all. I've been a phantom for the last two weeks because of a personal crisis that had sapped pretty much all of my creative energy. I've spent what free time I have with my husband, and other activities to help me de-stress.

Luckily, it seems that most of that crisis has passed for the time being, and now my creative energy is starting to slowly return.

As I am a staunch supporter of the USS Gallbar, I wasn't really sure of how to feel about last week's episode. Yona was all kinds of adorable, but I'm not too sure why the other four were moping around like they were all hoping for dates themselves. Go with each other! Really looking forward to this week's episode, and I'm really hoping it has consequences that carry over into their final fates at the end of the series.

Internet-drama wise, I'm not sure what to make of the Game of Thrones fandom having a very Star Wars-esque meltdown over Sunday's episode.

Disclaimer: I know next to nothing about Game of Thrones, but why any creative professional thinks they can wrap up eight years of storytelling in just six episodes is really beyond me. What's more? Apparently these two hacks are getting a Star Wars trilogy. So Disney is apparently giving them away to just anyone now.

So as a former Star Wars fan, I would like to say this to the GoT fandom: Welcome to the club. We have a support group that meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

So I've slowly resumed work on my next Ponyoverse story, I really need to give Letters an update or two, and my next Gallbar story (most likely a oneshot clopfic) is still on the back burner.

I'm still here, fillies and gentlecolts, and I hope to get you more content Soon(TM).

Hope life's treating you well. I mean you saw my last message to you of what had been happening with me the past few weeks too. We all have our problems but life gets better

I don’t have much faith in these writers, but I’m not going to pin the apparent train wreck of this GoT season on them. Chopping the season down to 6 episodes was most likely the decision of whoever at HBO foots the bill for all this. Probably like how the MLP writers of Season 3 didn’t decide “let’s chop this in half, and only give Twilicorn a one-episode finale.” Can you think of any professional asking for less time and chances to for writing credits?

As for the broader ideas of this season that aren’t popular, like the humans tearing into themselves after the White Walkers are defeated, or the Dragon Queen going nutso, that’s probably coming from GRRM himself. He already shared his planned ending with the show staff awhile back.

I thought I read that HBO offered to extend the production time or episodes, and they declined (maybe because they have a Star Wars cake waiting for them).

I don't know. All I know that it was a pretty big risk making a show about a book series that isn't finished.

I know that I shouldn't have laughed at that, but I did regardless.

So you shouldn't have laughed at something I wrote in an attempt to get a hearty chuckle out of people?

Thanks, I think I'll go cry in the corner now.

Well in my defense the type of laugh I generate isn't what's regarded as socially acceptable because of how loud it is.
