Hey, folks.
My days doing pony are numbered--or were numbered and now the numbers are kinda low. I'll probably post about it later. But you know what?
I'll be at Everfree Northwest May 17-19, and if you want to hang out or play some Magic the Gathering or buy me a drink, I'll be there with Scarlet, my sweet Foxo, in tow. I'll be doing a Panel at 6:45PM to 7:45 PM on SATURDAY in Twilight's Writing Room. It'll be on writing LGBT characters, by LGBT authors and just LGBT people! My friends Heartshine and Gara-the-author will be there, and we'll have fun probably making Heartshine flustered and also talking about queer stories and what they have to offer us all.
To that end, I'm also announcing...

Do you want something written? Do you want me to look at something you've written and help you tweak it a bit? Well, I can do that! I can do both of those things! I'm looking to make a bit of money on the side in the lead up to EFNW so that Foxo and can feel a little more secure about it, so...
But Alice, what can you write?
Firstly, lots of things, be more specific! But also:
- Any genre, though I also retain the rights to refuse. So don't bring me like Displaced or anything?
- More than 1K but less than 7-8K.
- Can use any canon characters or OC characters, but please have a good reference or a story with them. Be prepared to explain this person, and if at all possible get me like at least a paragraph of you writing a little bit of narration from their point of view or something.
- Can be pony, furry stuff, humans, anything if you're willing to explain it to me and don't mind me tackling new material from an angle you're not expecting.
- SFW OR NSFW. NSFW may mean a slighly higher rate per 1K words, but generally not that much more unless you are looking for some very specific kinks. To that end, I do not do any of the following: watersports, scat, vore, extreme edgeplay, bad hentai, anything that's utterly beyond the anatomic pale, explicit noncon. You're free to pitch these to me, but be aware that there is like, a basically zero chance I'll say yes and it will be awkward for both of us.
- I retain the right not to publish anything on this account, even if I write it for you.
- I retain the right to public anything on this account, but won't attach your name to it if you don't want to be named.
But Alice, what do I need to do to commission you?
Thanks for asking! here's what you need!
- A solid but not too developed story idea. OR
- Some characters, if you're willing for me to come up with a story, with information about their lives, settings, and relation to each other. OR
- A genre or mood you want out of a story. OR
- Some specific scene you want. OR
- The absolute most vague prompt ever, if you are willing to roll the dice on what kinda thing you get! It's actually kinda fun.
But Alice, how much does it cost?
- Base rate for fic commissions is $15 USD per 1,000 words. That's more than I have charged before, but significantly less than I could get and significantly less than many others would charge.
- Base rate for editing is $8 per 1K. I focus on readability, how nice your prose feels in my mind mouth, and making your characters good.
- Base rate for workshopping a fic with you is $10 per 1K. I will chill with you on discord or write you a long annotated commentary going through your fic and giving critique, thoughts, and generally offering any and all insight I can into how you can improve and what you're already doing well. For a bit extra I can potentially do part of this live with you over voice.
- Base rate for review blogging is $5 per story. I can read your fic, write a blog post about it and giving impressions, analysis, all kinds of things, and you get a linked blog about your story. It's neat!
- NSFW may be more per 1K words. Usually only like 1-3 more per, but as much as 5 per for more extreme fetishes or longer scenes.
- Price is negotiated at the beginning.
- If you do not want your commission, I will refund the full amount until I have it roughly 1/3 of the way done. At that point, I will only refund 2/3 of the money, at 1/2 only 1/2 of what has been paid, etc. If I finish the fic, I cannot refund you. Please understand. This does not mean that I won't work with what you want!
- Upon commissioning, I will give you a rough estimate of how many words the project should take, and you will put down a down payment of at least a third of the total cost. Once that is in my paypal, I open a Google Doc and start work immediately.
- I write so long as I'm paid. If the money ceases to flow, I cease to write--or if I just love what I'm working on, i keep your money and ask you several more times and then publish the story with a author's note in bold about how I didn't get paid, lol.

Screw the Bad Hentai meta, the internet is chock-full of porn, good and bad. (I've written a bunch myself, though never with ponies. They short-circuit my brain if I try.) But good ponyfic is much harder to find!

I really am. I don't know why, but something about things being written as ponies really let me connect to them, more so than any furry fic or most ahem.. "regular" writing does. *shrugs*
I found and followed your twitter, too, so maybe I'll see and get to read what you write elsewhere as I do enjoy reading your work immensely.
Can I throw money at you to finish some of your incomplete stories? I'm especially interested in Hold Your Hammer High (and pretty much anything even loosely set in the Songverse).
It really kills me to hear that you plan on stopping soon. I had an inkling given the gradual decline in uploads over the past couple years but hearing it directly hurts in a way I can't quite describe. You're by far my favorite fiction author (FimFic or otherwise) and it almost feels like a loss of life when any creative tells you that they're going to stop their craft (or at least the pony aspect, in this case). On reflection, it's probably just selfishness on my part. There are plenty of very valid reasons put a halt to creative work as interest wanes or the flow of life simply dictates it. I hope you find happiness in whatever you pursue in the future. I also hope that you don't decide to disappear off FimFiction entirely. I do enjoy the occasional blog post.
