me checking the dislike ratio on my new story

Glad to know bigotry is still alive and well in this fandom.

It's glad to see some of us didn't watch the same series as I did.

    So where I've been

Okay, uh... how do I begin this? Well, I suppose I should start with the obvious. Yes, I've been distracted. If you follow me on Archive that should be obvious. And if you don't, you totally should btw. Yes, I'm shameless.

God, today's episode took on a whole new meaning after I read this.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/allthemoms/2019/05/03/patton-oswalt-reflects-wifes-death-new-my-little-pony-episode/3651074002/

For Patton Oswalt, "My Little Pony" is a family affair.

His 10-year-old daughter, Alice, grew up playing with the colorful Hasbro toys and watching Discovery Family's animated series, "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic," now in its ninth season. So naturally, she was champing at the bit when the opportunity came up to voice a character in an upcoming episode, along with Oswalt and his new wife, actress Meredith Salenger.

"It was really neat to see that our daughter has some real skills, as far as voiceover is concerned," Oswalt says. "They wrote such a funny but also very beautiful episode for us to do together. It just felt great."

Yeah, definitely an episode to remember...

It's nice that the writers came up with a story that not only paid respect to Oswalt's family history, but also some nice insight on how a step-parent/child relationship can work out well.

Yeah, this is remarkably mature storytelling and not a topic I'd expected the show to cover.
