Back from Vacation! Sombra's characterization and some stuff moving forward. · 5:45pm May 3rd, 2019
So remember when I said it would take me a week? Turned out I meant to say a month as the moment I came back, a lot of shit needed to be change while I began working. But during my week month away, I managed to get time to watch the premier of the final season... And my oh my, the stuff they did with Sombra.
So to start off, i didn't mind his complete change in character as I tend to be a big fan of the egotistical 'i'm more superior then you are' kind of villains. My main complaints being these; So Sombra is a tactical genius, right? He knows when and where to strike when the heroes are the most vulnerable and taking advantage of their weaknesses. So then why the hell would he not keep them trapped in their fears the moment he has them cornered! The moment he decided against doing that is the moment he lost. Hence why the big ego can be a big problem and has villains carry around the villain ball. Ugh.
None-the-less, I enjoyed him while I can and I now have a bit more room to play around with his characterization moving forward. So following this, Sombra (or how I portray him) will have a bit of each different personalities from his appearance (Mainly, how he was in season 3, how he was in the comics and how he was in season 9). Also, guess I'm going to have to think up the climax to ToW considering the premier spoiled a reveal I was going to do. If you've been paying attention, you'll know what~.
Anyway, expect the next chapter I do to be in a Knight's Undoing. Thanks for staying tuned.
I was worried they'd wreck Sombra's characterization if they brought him back; one of his appeals was how effective he was, not letting up the whole time. I don't worry about spoilers myself, but I'll have to see what I think of his return sometime as I haven't even finished season 8 yet!
Looking forward to the next chapter!
