Average brony obsessing over the main cast with an unhealthy desire to see them in a dark fantasy setting.

:ajsmug: Afternoon everyone

:pinkiesad2: When I started this story, there were two major ideas I wanted to work with, and this chapter is the result of one of them; a suicidal friend. Pinkie was the obvious choice for this role and she's the most prone to depression over the course of the source. It's kind of a funny chapter to me because you finally get to look inside her home and see how she interacts a bit with her family. Which, she really doesn't. She has a warped view of everything that was twisted by somepony else and she chose to believe things were the way they were because that's how she saw it. an ultimate end of, everything is as it seems, and the world is out to get me. It was only when you were here that things were right, and now that you're gone, things can never be the same.

The blue skies in Underhoof, are always the same.
Because change, brings heart ache.

As a direct opposition to Pinkie's world view, Twilight wants everything that was the same to be different. she wanted something else, she knew there was something more out there, but didn't have any way to reach for the stars.

The blue skies in Underhoof, are always the same.
Because I was too afraid to look at the truth.

With that in mind, the rest of this will just be the lyrics to the song this chapter is named after. Star Overhead is a modern music video set to the soundtrack of life and sung by a filly... who's finally starting to understand the words.

After the memory of love faded
I slept so long with my eyes open
It’s afflicted me far more than I thought

I’m ripped in half as I stand
When I turn to face the piercing light
It’s no illusion, it’s you standing there

Tell me, where did you come from
Why do you know me
Tears of melancholy fall
Resounding through the end of my loneliness
Bran-new lovesong
That is my song for you

I gently stripped away the overwhelming dream
Til not a trace was left
Now there’s nothing, just the two of us

I used to hate myself
But before I knew it, I gave in
This heart began to race
It’s not so easily softened
Bran-new lovesong
You gave me everything

Tell me, where did you come from
Why do you know me
Tears of melancholy fall
Resounding through the end of my loneliness
Bran-new lovesong
That is my song for you
