A JD Review: MLP Season 9 Episode 4 - "Twilight's Seven" · 8:59pm Apr 23rd, 2019

The one where JD was late to review it and deserves to be punished.

Nothing too kinky, pls.

Otay! Looks like we got an average episode this week to review an--HOLY CRAP, this is the 200th episode, isn't it? Well, what's so special about--HOLY NIPPLES, the main voice cast came up with the story this time around?! They finally let Tabitha express her talent in writing?! Sign me the hell up!

Oh, boy, did this episode deliver! I was a little disappointed to hear that it was going to just be a sibling rivalry episode, but after watching it, it truly is much more than that. The main voice cast wanted to do a heist episode, and boy did they do one. The comedy was on par, the interactions between Twilight and Shining SO good, and the ending to the episode is what truly makes it shine. Guess we have confirmation at this point that Spike is more a little brother to Twilight if anything, not really a son like I've written before. Oh, well, I kinda like this take a bit more now.

Zephyr Breeze came back for a hilarious cameo as well as Maud, Princess Luna showed her devious, dark side once again when aiding Spike, and we got some great banter between the Mane 6. This episode was just so fun.

And who could forget the memes?

I demand more of these. Now.

Yeah, that's a thumbs-up for me, dog. 10/10. What were all of your thoughts?

I actually didn't know that the casy wrote this episode.

Just has I was watching it in between two Infinity Era chapters (not gonna fufill my promise of watching them all in 4 days btw , but that's another sad story) !

Anyway , that's a solid 11/10 for me , I just learnt from you that this episode was written by someone else than the rest of the episodes . And that makes it even better ! They are definitly breaking the awesomeho-meter for this season (which is totaly undestandable knowing that it's sadly the last) . This truly shows that the main cast are more than just voice actors and that they can do things has good , or even better , than the prod that generaly takes care of those kind of things .

The memes were really good too (that face that twilight makes when she says the "Forevvvveeeeeer" is just priceless)

But my favorite scene is clearly the one where spike reveals his plan (that shot on Luna scratching the goose made me die of laughter) I kinda expected that to happen but definitly not like that , cuz that ... That was unexpected .

It was amazing that the cast are up with this story after two years of discussion. There were many hilarious moments and for me what drew my instance was whether A.J.’s backstory of being a secret country singer was legit (It made me desire a full version of the song and whether it was all made up as R.D. thought). But in the end, this episode gave Spike the respect he truly deserved. We may never know who his real parents are or ‘were’ but the fact he’s been a brother to Twilight and finally gets recognized for it... Well played.

I suppose it’s logical for Twilight and Spike to have a Sister and Brother relationship than a Adopted Mother and Son relationship despite Twilight being the one who hatched Spike after all by that time she was too young to have any motherly judgment even for a genius

ok, so learning that the cast wrote the episode... I can see now why i thought it was super boring... Im sorry, but nothing in Season 9 so far has been really great to me...

Guess we have confirmation at this point that Spike is more a little brother to Twilight if anything, not really a son like I've written before

Oh I wouldn’t really say that. They’ve kinda explored both dynamics between Twilight and Spike. In Father Knows Beast she was more of a mother to him and in this episode she is his sister. Another review I found actually explained that it isn’t impossible for her to be both for Spike at once. To me it doesn’t really matter, although I think of Spike more as Twilight’s son than brother as long as they are family it is perfect.

Deadpool: Punishment for being late huh? ok you got 2 choices you can either get smacked with a a rubber chicken every 3 minutes while watching both fan4stic and the early 2000 hulk film, or go shopping at an IKEA during a holiday weekend while having tomatoes thrown at you every 5 minutes. And both choices will have the 4kids version of the One Piece theme song on repeat. Your call.:trollestia:

Apart from my genitals sinking into the mariana trench at the moment with Zephyr, this one delivered with prime at no further charges! :yay:

And Cathy Weseluck liked me on Twitter for my comment commending her on the episode, which I added with an Avengers: Endgame feeling to it that some guys may move on, but not us. Overall this episode was I don't know... But the idea of Pinkie wanting to go to space... Maybe she'll be the one to rescue Tony Stark if NASA cannot. Plus I can smell the memes (and trolls unfortunately) of that scene with Luna and the goose. And who'd never thought Twi really hurt that bad when her little brother just got... nope... not gonna say it... gonna break everyone's hearts including meself.

5048573 Luna's still evil...

5048574 Spike finally got that well-deserved respect!

5048621 Yeah, it doesn't really matter to me anymore. I like the brother dynamic now.

5048637 I'll go with IKEA. :derpytongue2:

5048753 He ain't that bad.

I like Zeph. Just seeing him standing dominant over Rainbow with amorous intent nearly made me drop my laptop.
