21st Favorite Video Made by a Brony or Pegasister · 1:08pm Apr 23rd, 2019

My 195th blog post.

My 21st favorite video from YouTube too, and my 9th favorite crossover video.

Man, I literally don’t know when to stop doing this, huh?

I’m not sure if this video here is going to be the most appropriate in terms of celebrating reaching 195, but, 🤷🏻‍♂️oh well.

Anyway, this video that I’m showing you guys here is another crossover video. It takes place during the episode “Non-Compete Clause”, where during the time Applejack and Rainbow Dash are trying to build that bridge to help them and the Student Six get across the chasm, the former two are suddenly watched by a certain ‘Shogun of Sorrow’ after he hears all the the commotion.

To give clarification, the guy who’s watching them is Aku, the main antagonist of “Samurai Jack” and archenemy of the title character. He was played by Mako Iwamatsu in Seasons 1-4, and Greg Baldwin (replacing the late actor) in Season 5. Baldwin was the voice of Aku in this video.

To change the subject...

Personally, a lot like so many others, I’m not too fond of “Non-Compete Clause”. I mean, Rainbow and Applejack were literally just so out of character in this episode. Additionally, Ashleigh Ball’s voice acting as the two lead characters was cringy, and the writing and comedy (save for a few gags) by newcomer Kim Beyer-Johnson was just too mean-spirited and lackluster.

But, enough about that. The reason I love this video is because the way everything was executed was just so hilarious to me 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣. I found myself relating to Aku here upon seeing his reaction, and the way Camera Pony7 had everything play out made it seem so real.

Already, I can’t help but wonder what you guys think of ”Non-Compete Clause”, as well as this video.

Take a look:

It definitely wasn't one of the best episodes I've ever seen. Course it's not the actors' fault for how the episode turned out, they were only doing what was written. And given the fact this writer has had this reputation of not giving out new material, well that doesn't bode well on a resume. Personally, I could write a better episode like this in my 'sleep' if I wanted to. Least that one short where Fluttershy explained how she got Pony of the Month so many times added a bit of justification (Even though A.J. and Dash kind of missed the point). I think the real issue is that we've grown tired of seeing these two competing with each other, even if their competitive edge is part of their nature.

I don't hate it as much as other people do, but yeah, it was pretty bad.

What do you guys think of the video shown here?

What's there to say? The video pretty much says it all. Even Aku would think that this set of bickering between these two ponies is too much even for Shapeshifting Master of Darkness.
