Dragonborne's Writing Commish Announcement + FAQ + Art Commissions Included · 10:31pm Apr 16th, 2019
I have decided to do writing commissions, starting today! I'll be charging 10$ per thousand words, up to a maximum of 5k words for one-shots and 10k for longer, chaptered stories (even longer stories that span over the minimum 10k are price negotiable, as are those whose wordcount HASN'T been decided by either party during negotiations)! Now that I have your attention, you might be having a few questions in your head as we type. Thus, I'll address those first:
FAQ
Q: Will this affect art commissions?
A: No, it won't. Unless you want a commissioned story WITH a cover art, but that is strictly negotiable on a case-by-case basis.
Q: But you're delving into this too soon! Aren't you still job-hunting?
A: Been sitting on this for a while, and yes I am. This is merely a side-gig to compliment my actual job (as soon as I can land another one.)
Q: What won't you do?
A: As far as writing goes, I won't do AB/DL, scat/watersports, foalcon (unless you want a REALLY grimdark story, but I digress), or anything in the gore realms past The Walking Dead severity. I also won't dabble into IRL politics, since that's too much Jargon and Jank for me to work with (and also, because why?) Displaced, also not my cup of tea, but for entirely different reasons. Cover art, if desired, will be even more strict to comply with site rules (and Archive of Our Own's rules, if the story in question should go there instead).
Q: Do you accept alternate forms of payment?
A: No. Learned the hard way that getting "exposure" is just slang for being ripped off. The person who did that to me still owes me 10$. Credit cards, maaaaaaaaaaaybe, if they're legit. Besides, if I do what I do, word's gonna get around eventually.
Q: Do you take payment before work is finalized?
A: No. Though I am willing to show you my progress, both art and story-related, as I go along so that I can make changes according to the particular request. Google docs and screensharing, baby :D
Q: But you'll take too long!
A: And that's why I've learned to type fast. :)
Q: You can do stories with covers?
A: Yes I can! Though the end result will take longer to do overall, than if I just wrote out the final product. It's like a man in a marble block, just gotta chisel the rest off before the man can be seen in his glory. xD
Q: Can you still collaborate?
A: Yes I can! :D The option is available!
Q: Do you take requests publicly?
A: Yes, but PM is preferable.
With that being said, I'm also doing anthro and human art on top of that; HOWEVER, because they're not my standard, the price is negotiable for such pieces. Anywhere from 15$ to 25$, depending on how much you're able to afford at the moment of the commission. Otherwise, standard at commission prices (7.50-20$ USD) still apply.
