A new project, and an explanation!

    Hey folks,

Alternate title for this blog post: I'm Doing a Thing (and I'm looking for help)

I don't think anyone is surprised that my pony writing has been on a bit of a hiatus for a while, and my presence on this site is mostly to lurk-and-read rather than finish my long-delayed stories. What you might not know, though, is what I've been doing instead of pony writing.

Interview with B_25, and The Archetypist's final chapter · 11:31am Apr 16th, 2019

The Archetypist will conclude with its final chapter in about 12 hours or so, whenever I manage to log on tomorrow morning. I hope everyone who's been following it has enjoyed the story so far, and I look forward to discussing it with you soon!

Second, I had a great time with B_25 and the boys at the B-Team on their Twitch show, B.S.ING! We talked for almost two hours about stories, the writing process, some of our favorite books, how to practice writing and become better at our craft, and of course how great GaPJaxie is, because I can never leave that out of an interview. If you get a chance, check out the VOD of their stream here:

Huh, so soon? I would have thought we were about two thirds of the way through.

You know I wouldn't be reading Archetypist if it failed to continue to pique my interests.
Your stories are the dangerous types for me. It slowly catches me before I become wholly enthralled and invested. It's something which I adore and I have a feeling your pacing is what really does it. There's no 0-50 on the 1/4 race with it. The change to the world is just as, if not more so, interesting as how each character is affected and changed by it. It is ironic as well there's a character who is the most adverse and antithesis of the stale and static to then becomes the most constant and rule constrained in the world.

iā€™m glad you had fun with the interview!

It's obvious they'll solve the problem and everything will turn back to normal, including the ponies and Applejack.

Or we get a tragic ending and they all succumb to their dreams. It does feel abrupt, at the same time i think the descent into helplessness lends itself to a sudden stop. Like falling into a not-bottomless pit.

Time will tell.
