Not back to KSP yet, but I did do some space stuff.

I haven't touched KSP since my early experience with KSP2 was a combination of glitchy game and impossible-to-read UI. I've been thinking about it here and there, but I've had other things to do.

But that doesn't mean I'm not doing space stuff, and yesterday I finally edited and posted a video of such.

    My muse is nagging me.

I've done very little writing the past five months, partly due to being busy, but mostly due to recurring headaches when it's writing time.

I have a couple weeks off, and I'm going to try to make time to get back on my projects (the Octavia story and novelizing Peter is the Wolf). But my mind... well... it's trying to jump ahead, or possibly back.

    Life imitates art...

So, a privately built and operated space probe became the first US lander to soft-land on the Moon last week- Odysseus.

    Extreme Nitpicky Trivia Help Wanted

I've finally begun work on that story I promised.

I need a bit of info for a minor touch, though:

Does anybody know if, through the entirety of MLP:FiM, any month in the Julian/Gregorian calendar has been named by any character in any episode whatever?

I'm prepared to make up month names, but if they use the same ones we do I won't bother.

Status Update on Changeling Space Program · 7:37pm Apr 15th, 2019

Well, today the service guy for the phone co-op came out and verified it: my modem needs replacing. That will get done tomorrow, when I go deposit money, pay bills, buy groceries, etc.

Next week I'll make one final attempt at streaming KSP gameplay. If it doesn't work, then I'll just record video and post it.

For Patreon supporters, live-writing will happen tomorrow at the same URL, or if you don't want to watch text appear on a Google Doc you can see the first draft posted to Patreon afterwards.

This is great news! I just now finished chapter 13 of CSP and am moving on to 14.

Thank you so much for all the great fun—it's been a blast reading The Maretian and CSP. Patreon engaged! For what it's worth.

While reading CSP, I was reminded many times of Rush's song Countdown, from the Signals album. This song was written after the band members were invited to witness Columbia's first flight.

The same year the album was released, I watched STS-4 (Columbia) land at Edwards Airforce Base. I was fresh out of high school, and I'd gotten an actual base pass from my father's boss, who's son was a military officer working at Edwards. A friend drove the three of us (in a beat up old Pinto with deteriorating, wind-flapping interior) to the event (on the base, not watching from outside it, yay!) My friends, having ramped up on some mysterious white substance or other which was probably just baking soda :twilightoops: just before we drove from LA, fell asleep at the far edges of the runway, just before the landing. I tried to wake them before, but they were pretty groggy. Later we saw HRH Pres. Reagan and the shuttle Enterprise, both of which were on display that morning. :trollestia:

A little after that, my father worked at JPL, making precision parts for the Galileo probe. I signed a long page during a family day at JPL, the image of which was shrunk to a micro-dot and placed on the section of the probe which took a deliberate dive into Jupiter's atmosphere. Sad but true.

And that's my pitiful silk-thin strand of relation to the US space program.

In any case, my apologies if this went on too far. I probably won't bother you again except for the occasional rah rah comment and very sincere thank you.

I guess the grogar thing won’t happen on this universe

5047031 I'll have to think it over. If it does, it'll happen directly between the end of CSP and the beginning of Maretian.

I guess we’ll see how the season pans out
