I have to say that out of all the things I’ve seen across my travels on this site, nothing quite cracks me up like the classic “user who has quoted themselves in their short bio”
It’s the perfect comedic blend of absurdity and self-importance
1. You don’t need to quote yourself if you said it; the express purpose of a quote is to make sure that the person who originally stated the phrase gets credit for it and the statements isn’t attributed to you
2. Generally, one quotes something they find interesting or profound; in addition, quoting someone usually intones a certain amount of respect you have for them. Ergo, quoting yourself not only implies you think whatever you’ve said is interesting and/or profound, but also that you yourself believe you are worth quoting.
Except for some reason the only one quoting you is you, and your “interesting and profound quote” seems to actually be a commonplace cliché that you reworded:
“‘Do not fear the dark or run from the light for the mind is worse than both.’ - fluttershyfan72” or some shit
