Regarding the S9 Premiere... [Spoilers!] · 3:01am Apr 9th, 2019
... I thought it was pretty good, despite a few flaws here and there, but that is NOT why I am writing this. No, the reason I am writing this involves a certain something that happened at the end of the first part of the premiere.
[SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT!]
Namely that the Tree of Harmony is now dead, murdered by Sombra. Some of you may also remember that the Tree had been shown to be becoming self-aware in a prior episode the season before, and that not too long ago I wrote a fic expanding on that idea, resulting in a bittersweet case of harsher in hindsight.
But fear not! For this is not the end for the Tree of Harmony, not if I have any say in it!
Purpose... My... My purpose...
My purpose... has failed...
So cold...
Afraid... I am... Afraid?
Alone... I am... alone...
My body... is no more...
Will... will my soul soon follow it?
... No... I will not fade... I will...

Yes, good. The tree must live on.
There's another clip they've been showing us that has the Tree in Twilight's form passing some kind of light to the Student Six, so yeah, the Tree's spirit is clearly still somewhere. My guess is somewhere in Twilight's castle. Likely the map table.
The Tree will live on! Keep her alive, please (the writers)! Best season premiere ever! :D
