While it may not appear so, Ultraman does have a special spot in my family history. When my father was a kid, he would watch the original Ultraman series and loved it. I too gradually discovered him through the toys, watched a few moments from the other series. And just recently I bought the original series on DVD, complete with the English dub by the cast of the original Speedracer series.
And now there is this... Much better series than that Godzilla Anime Trilogy. And it takes a really gutsy move to make it another direct sequel after the original series. In a Batman Beyond approach, the son of the original Ultraman takes the mantle alongside a few homages to Seven, Jack, and Ace. There aren't that many monster fights, but at the same time, however, the suits the characters used don't grant them a gigantic size. But instead, it has more of a mystery story, and that works well to its favor.
I strongly recommend this, overall.
