Two upcoming chapters and an origin story that will need warning tags · 3:15pm Mar 29th, 2019
It looks like Friendship is Magic is getting close to its final season. Looking back on the show, there is one 'friendship lesson' that I wished the show would have talked about more. They talked about it a tiny bit, but it could have used more attention.
I've been working on the last few chapters before I finish my main story on here: Friends, Forgiveness, and Magic. I have one chapter done (aside from grammar checking) but it's a short, in-between chapter focusing on Lady Faust as she astral projects herself. Some of you may not be satisfied with that chapter alone. So before I upload that, I plan on finished the next chapter. It's about halfway done.
There's one thing I need your opinion on though. At some point, I want to cover Lady Faust's origin story, and how she got so messed up. The problem is, Friends, Forgiveness, and Magic is rated E for Everyone. But Lady Faust's backstory contains some really dark stuff. The kind of content that gets labeled as Mature and comes with warning tags. If you want to look at this spoiler, it contains discussion about suicide among other things.
So, I feel I need to ask you readers this: Should I include Lady Faust's backstory inside this story and put some warnings at the beginning of the chapter? Or should I split it off as a very short prequel?
Short prequel.
I think a short prequel would be better, since even though the word "trigger warning" has become a (tasteless) joke in some corners of the internet, there are a lot of people struggling with mental health issues and mentions of triggering content should be made very, very clear.
I say make it a prequel. Heck, I always figured villainous Faust had to have made some kind of terrible deal, just from her name alone!
