Spacebattles is a pretty daunting place · 11:55pm Mar 25th, 2019
So, dragging my feet like always, I finally got around to making a Spacebattles account for anybody who might want to watch me over there. It's under the name "Captain_Skipjack" (which is the name I go by most everywhere else on the internet that isn't strictly pony related)
There's a LOT of rules to what goes on spacebattles and where things are meant to be placed, in what forum, etc. Also they have really strict rules against NSFW and it makes me worried about my moments of comical and/or situational nudity. They seem to have a really strict banning policy over there and I don't want to start up a new thing only to get immediately banned.
Basically, this blog is just an announcement to watch this space. I'm figuring the site out and I'll let you know when I've posted something over there.
In other news, y'all shouldn't have encouraged me to go through with that "snippets" idea I had. Turns out I can't seem to stop myself when I get a good idea going sometimes so you might (keyword being MIGHT) be getting a Young Justice crossover somewhere down the line to go with my MCU crossover.
In other, actually IMPORTANT news, the final final FINAL Article 13 vote is tomorrow. This one's for all the marbles. Here's hoping and praying it doesn't go through. I don't need another nervous breakdown.
(And if Article 13 DOES pass and this site goes down literally tomorrow, then come looking for me at Spacebattles under the name Captain_Skipjack. I don't THINK that that particular "scorched earth" scenario is going to happen [there's supposed to be another two years of deliberation and gradual implementation before it fully goes into effect if it happens], but at this point who even knows anymore? If a 'scorched earth' scenario DOES end up happening, then I'm pretty sure that Spacebattles will at least survive the first carpetbombing, seeing as they aren't based in Europe like FiMFiction is.)
The fans (or the people in this case) would never allow something like this, because let's not forget that it would be disastrous for the economy if such a stupid law was to be passed, and that the politician sure love to fill their pockets with the people's money.
As a fellow Spacebattler, yeah, it can be daunting. But if you get some good peeps in your threads, free proofreading. Actually competent proofreading. If you read Ashes of the Past by Saphroneth (who has an Account on this site, look up the MLP Infinite Loops), you can see the difference from before he started posting on SB, and after.
And there's always something to read on SB.
Honestly, it may seem daunting at first, but believe me, we're pretty chill.
If the MEP's have any sense of justice or care for what the people want, then hopefully Article 13 will burn and die. Hard.
And to be honest, as it stands I worry there's a LOT more at stake than just the internet.
This honestly couldn't have come at a worse time, considering everything that's going on in the world, and how much everything depend on the digital side of things now days, I have a feeling people aren't even mentioning many of the devastating consequences it could have beyond the internet. The world is already getting more and more unstable politically and financially, the potential fallout from Article 13 could be the straw that breaks the camels back. Probably just over-reacting, I'll admit. My mind is running away from itself terrified over all this.
If you're worried something might be against the site's rules you can always call up one of the mods and let them check it out.
And if you do want to write NSFW stuff in your stories, you can do what a lot of other authors do and post link to the complete version of your stories on another site.

Do NOT do that, linking to NSFW is IIRC explicitly against the rules on Spacebattles.
Instead, you tell the reader what they need to do to find said NSFW bits. Like, say "go to the story on fimfiction/QQ/other website to see the mature version", without actually linking to it. Trust your readers to be able to perform a five second Google search if they're interested.

My bad, I didn't knew that peculiar rules.
This blog should help explain things a little better, and yes, Article 13 will take two years to be implemented. I seriously doubt FimFic is going anywhere soon, and I'm sure we'll be informed otherwise.
