Have you guys been keeping up with the recent EQG shorts? I haven't had much to say about them because they've been... kinda dumb, mostly? But they seem to be getting better and better. With "Best in Show" promising continuity, I was actually looking forward to the next one, and...

I mean... Where can I even begin?
I wish all the shorts were like this one, because it feels like the show staff are out of fucks to give and just doing whatever makes them laugh. And it made me laugh.
- Applejack needs to use "Giddyup!" as an opening more often.
- Like, literally no one realizes that Humania Gummy is a stuffed toy. That's your first sign that no fucks are being given.
- Then Micro Chips has a fucking robot who's a goddamn Les Mis reference. And it puts AJ and Fluttershy into an existential crisis!
- Tank was Tank, whatever, Cranky Doodle won. And of course, they do that "pet looks like owner" thing, but seriously, if that dog won, everyone judging this thing has got to be stoned off their asses.
...So I guess the judges' panel was Tree Hugger, Zephyr Breeze and Limestone Pie, right? :V
No, but I really liked this. The previous short was just kind of cute, lots of good Fluttershy moments. This was stupid, and stupid in the best way possible. :D
"One more day to revolution" becomes a lot more menacing when robots get involved...

Most of them were just all right.
Ehhh, the writing and editing just isn't snappy or clever enough to make it entertaining to me. Too many long pauses and dwelling on jokes to fill out even a two minute run time. Also just naming the robot after Jean Val Jean doesn't really count if you ask me. Like, why? Is the work somehow elevated just because it references another? What is clever about naming a toaster robot after a character from post revolutionary France?

No, it's just amazing they went for that when they could have done literally anything.
I dunno, my expectations are pretty much nil, I'm desperate for anything related to this series to entertain me, and very little of it does anymore. :C
