One question about S9 trailer.

And now I have one question. I quote Luna:

Equestria enjoying it's longest period of harmony in years.

So let me get it straight - Nightmare Moon, Sombra, Chrysalis, Tirek, Discord, Glim-Glam time-travel shenanigans, Cozy Glow and all other smaller things... All of this is the longest period of harmony in years. Longest. Longest. Now I feel bad for Celestia - it looks like she forced to handle so much shit that at the start of the season one simply burned out :)... Huh, this is actually a fun idea for fanfic.

Unless the show makes a huge time skip all of this happened three or four years ago at best. Not really long enough to say that it been a "longest period of harmony in years". Well, unless Equestria past not exactly as peaceful as people tend to believe. Which actually mesh very well with comics - they tend to add all sorts of problems both in past and present.

Well considering S8 had a big enough time skip to build a school from scratch and get it up and running, S9 could well be 5 or 6 years from S4. To the pony on the street, harmony wasn't really disrupted by Starlight Glimmer, Chrysalis's return, or the pony of shadows. The only thing they noticed was Cozy Glow stealing the magic, but compared to Luna's early years of her return, where Discord and the Canterlot invasion and Luna herself and Tirek all occurred within a year or so of each other, things definitely appear to be calmer to, say a cab driver in Canterlot.
